Sun Pavilion Wedding | Susanna & Mark | Harrogate
Susanna & Mark were married at St Mark’s Church near their home in Harrogate before heading over to The Sun Pavilion in the Valley Gardens. I’m a big fan of the Valley Gardens. It’s full of beautiful backdrops for wedding photographs, and it’s a great place for kids to run around too so I’m often their for family shoots as well!
I met Susanna at her home in the morning where she and her mum and sister were getting ready. The brilliant Anna Stephenson was in charge of hair and make up for Susanna and her sister. A big group of Susanna’s friends joined us a bit later so the house was full of noise and laughter which I love!
Once Susanna was in her dress I headed over to the church. The service was actually conducted by Mark’s dad which meant that it was wonderfully personal and one of my favourites so far. The weather turned on us as everyone was leaving the church, and it rained on and off throughout the drinks reception so we did a lot of mad dashing back and forth to avoid the showers! Susanna & Mark had put so much thought into the decor and little touches at the Sun Pavilion – jars of flowers everywhere, lots of paper pompoms, and of course I mustn’t forget to mention The Bunting (metres and metres of it, all hand made especially for the day and the topic of many pre-wedding discussions, so yes it does need capitals!).
The rain finally dried up after the speeches and I was able to drag Susanna & Mark back outside for some more portraits in the soft evening light (my favourite!)…. Enjoy! x
