I am there to tell the story of your wedding, so I will be with you all day – from the bridal preparations right through until at least the first dance. I try to be discreet and unobtrusive, capturing moments as they happen without getting in the way of you or your guests.
At some point in the day, usually while your guests are enjoying champagne and canapés (or in the case of my wedding, tea and cupcakes!), I like to take the two of you away for a short while. This is a chance for you to relax and take a breath, and let it all sink in – you just got married, eeek! It’s also the perfect time for me to capture some beautiful shots of the two of you together.
If you’ve got any other questions then please get in touch using the contact form in the menu above, or check out the frequently asked questions below!
What does a pre-wedding engagement shoot involve?
For me the pre-wedding shoot is a hugely important part of the experience. It’s a chance for the two of you to get to know me better, and more importantly for you to get used to having your picture taken and to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Plus you’ll get to see how great you look in photographs, giving you one less thing to worry about on your wedding day! The shoot can take place wherever you like. Normally this will be a local park or area of woodland, or even your chosen wedding venue. I’ll also provide you with digital copies of the images from your pre-wedding shoot which you can put on your wall or use for invitations and guest books. When the shoot is over we can have a chat about all the details of your wedding – timings, locations, group shots and any special touches you might have added – so that I can plan when and where to be on the big day.
How many pictures do we get?
I don’t put a limit on the number of photos I provide, however you should typically expect around 40 pre-wedding images, and around 400 wedding pictures.
Will you travel for a wedding?
Absolutely! Although I’m based in Yorkshire I am happy to travel all over the UK. If your wedding takes place far enough away from Leeds to require an overnight stay then accommodation will be charged for at cost in addition to my usual fee. For overseas weddings I charge my usual fee plus flights, meals and accommodation for 2 or 3 nights. I’m happy to discuss these requirements.
Do you do group shots?
Yes indeed. Group photos are important to family members, and I’m more than happy to include a number of these on the day. My style is very relaxed and informal, so I prefer to keep to a maximum of around 8 of these more formal group photos, which can be discussed at the pre-wedding meeting.
When can we see our images?
The editing of your images after the wedding is as important to me as taking the photos on the big day, and I put a great deal of care and effort into making sure that your photographs are perfect before you view them. Your images will be available online in a password protected gallery within 4 weeks after your wedding. If you choose to have an album we can arrange a meeting at your home to pick your favourite images.
How do we book you?
If you’re interested in booking me as your wedding photographer we can arrange a meeting in your home or at your chosen wedding venue to chat about your wedding and for you to find out a bit more about me. If you then decide that you would like to book me, a £300 deposit is required to secure your wedding date. The remaining balance is then due one month before your wedding. Additional albums and other products can be ordered after your wedding.
