Bolton Abbey Wedding Photography | Natasha & Tom

Bolton Abbey Wedding Photography | Natasha & Tom

Bolton Abbey Wedding Photography. Natasha & Tom were married at The Priory Church at Bolton Abbey on a sunny day in July, followed by a reception at the nearby Devonshire Arms. I joined Natasha and her bridesmaids at the Devonshire Arms to capture them all getting ready with Brittany Jae on hair and make up duties, along with lots of lovely details of Natasha’s dress, flowers and shoes (you’ll no doubt notice, I loved her shoes!). As (nearly!) always happens things ran a bit late, but I managed to capture Natasha getting into her dress and her dad seeing her all ready to go before I nipped down to the church to get some shots of everything set up and wait for the wedding car to arrive.

Different churches (and even different vicars in the same church) have different rules about photography during wedding ceremonies – ALWAYS check with your vicar before the wedding as there are some who don’t allow photography at all. Not something you want to be surprised with on the day! This time I was able to capture Natasha walking down the aisle with her very proud dad, and then photographed the rest of the ceremony from the back of the church. So whilst I wasn’t able to get shots of their faces and expressions during the service, it did make for some lovely wide shots of the whole space (and it is an incredible space!).

After the ceremony we only had a short time for photographs so we whipped through some group photos and then everyone headed off to The Devonshire Arms for drinks whilst I stayed with Natasha & Tom for some photographs in the ruins at Bolton Abbey. Backdrops don’t get much better than this place, it’s one of my absolute favourite spots for weddings, engagement shoots, and family shoots.

We then dashed back up to the hotel to join everyone else for a quick blast of confetti before speech time. I had actually managed to photograph everything set up for the wedding breakfast that morning, which was a good thing as the room was completely full of the most gorgeous cream, peach, and pale pink flowers in glass and mercury glass vases. They were all over the tables, the fireplace, even the seat backs. Absolute heaven for a floral addict like me, I had to drag myself away!

And in a flash the wedding breakfast was over, the room was turned around for the evening reception, and it was time for the cake cutting and first dance. Thank you so much to Natasha & Tom for trusting me to capture their beautiful wedding day, and if you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding at Bolton Abbey and/or The Devonshire Arms then please say hi! x
