Principal Hotel York Wedding Photography. Another damp and chilly wedding! Perfect place for it though – The Principal York is a beautiful building and I’m obsessed with the décor, staircases and tiled floors!

I arrived when Zoe and her bridesmaids were still at the hairdressers which gave me lots of time and space to get some lovely shots of her amazing gown in the bridal suite, and this gown needed space!

Shortly after Zoe and one of her bridesmaids arrived back to start on their make up so I busied myself capturing all the other little details (that I love!) and intermittently popping into the bathroom (and occasionally the bathtub) to check on their progress!

The rest of the bridesmaids and Zoe’s mum arrived in perfect time to get her into her dress. We let Zoe’s dad in to see her all ready to go and then I left them all to enjoy one of their 3 bottles of champagne!

A few candid shots of the guests arriving and it was time to head to the Crown Room for the ceremony. Nerves built up a bit as we waited for Zoe to make her entrance, but it wasn’t long until the “I do’s” we exchanged and Zoe and Jonathan were walking back up the aisle under a storm of confetti.

The weather was not on our side so we all headed to the Minster Room for drinks. A few group photos on the stairs and Zoe and Jonathan went off for a bit of time together whilst I captured the Oak Room set up for the wedding breakfast. Time raced by as it always does so I nabbed Zoe & Jonathan for some photos on the staircase whilst the guests found their seats for dinner.

Speeches were before the meal and I think all the speakers were relieved about that! After the meal I whisked Zoe and Jonathan off for another round of photos outside (at last!) and inside again where I got to play with my flash!

The Oak Room as turned around in no time at all and it was time for the party to start! Thanks Mr & Mrs S for having along! And anyone planning a wedding at The Principal York please do contact me I’d love to hear from you! x
