Red Lion Burnsall Wedding Photographer | Lizzie & Brendan
Red Lion Burnsall Wedding Photographer. This pair are two of the kindest, most laid back and fun-loving people, and I had such a great time at their wedding!
Lizzie and her daughters and bridesmaid were getting ready in one of the cottage at The Red Lion, so I joined them for a couple of hours before the ceremony. It was great to see Louise Lunn again who was in charge of make up for Lizzie and co. We were also joined by Laura from fab videography team For All The Days. Really recommend these guys if you’re thinking of hiring a videographer for your wedding – their work is brilliant and they’re also great to have around on the day.
As usual I started with the lovely details of dress/shoes/flowers and kept bobbing in and out to capture the hair and make up prep too. You know, like a meerkat 😀 Meanwhile Brendan and the boys were getting ready in one of the rooms over the pub and the lovely Jamie Sia was there capturing them getting ready before they headed down for a quick pre-ceremony drink. Once Lizzie was dressed we let her dad in to see her and I think you can tell from the photos that he was pretty impressed!
The ceremony room was absolutely packed with friends and family, they even spilled out into the room beyond! Cleary a very loved couple these two! The ceremony itself was wonderful – so full of emotion, especially when Brendan’s son did his reading. I once again became that weird lady that gets too into it and is trying not to cry in front of a room of strangers!
Once the register was signed Lizzie and Brendan made their exit and had a few moments alone whilst everyone else headed outside to grab some confetti. There was barely enough space for us all on the courtyard! Lizzie and Brendan appeared at the top of the steps to great cheers, applause, music (thanks to Ellie Sax!) and much confetti (never too much!).
They led everyone around to the terrace where drinks and canapés were served and Ellie carried on doing her thang! She’s fab by the way, if you’re looking for great entertainment for your wedding then I highly recommend Ellie – she’s super talented and really gets everyone involved!
It was quite late in the day at this point (for an October wedding at least!), so we whipped through some group photos down by the river and then I keep hold of Lizzie and Brendan for a few more of just the two of them. We then rejoined the rest of the wedding on the terrace and Jamie and I spent time capturing candid shots of everyone outside plus some details indoors where everything was set up for the wedding breakfast. Unsurprisingly to those who know me I was a big fan of the theme for the tables – each named after a different Gin. Impressed with the people of Ilkley who seemed to have spent the previous few months chugging every Gin available to get enough empty bottles for the centrepieces!
Soon the guests are called in and it was time for Lizzie and Brendan to make their entrance for the wedding breakfast. After dinner it was time for the speeches which were so funny and made for some of my favourite speech photos of 2018!
There was a bit of a break whilst things were set up for the evening do and then the party really started! Lizzie and Brendan had choreographed an amazing first dance, after which Ellie Sax had everyone up and dancing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a crowded dance floor! Normally the dance floor empties after a few songs and I take that as my cue to leave but this lot just kept going! Finally though I had more than enough party photos and made my way home.
Huge thank you as always to Lizzie and Brendan for asking me to capture your wedding! x
