Rossington Hall Wedding Photography | Billie & Scott
Rossington Hall Wedding Photography. Billie & Scott were married at Rossington Hall near Doncaster on a very chilly and damp Saturday in February. This was my first wedding at Rossington, and I was very excited to be working at a new venue, especially one that looks like this. The building is gorgeous inside and out, with loads of great photo locations for all weathers (luckily for us!).
I joined Billie in the beautiful suite at Rossington where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids, mum and adorable little flower girls. Hair and make up was running smoothly and I got some lovely shots of the flower girls getting into their dresses (especially cute to see Billie getting her own little girl Eva ready; she was so excited to finally be allowed to wear her “princess dress” and shoes). I also managed to pop down to see Scott arriving and coerced him into a couple of photos before heading back up to the bridal suite.
As so often happens the atmosphere was pretty calm and relaxed, until dress time! The suite at Rossington is huge with lots of big windows letting in loads of lovely light, so I was able to get loads of shots of Billie being buttoned into her amazing gown, and having her many many layers adjusted! Emotions were running high by this point, and I just love the shot of one of the bridesmaids wiping a solo tear from Billie’s cheek. And her dad’s reaction to seeing her all ready for the first time was one of my favourites last year! Being a self-confessed cake and floral addict I do love the details and the prettiness of weddings, but these kinds of shots make the day for me.
I got a couple of shots Billie in one of the windows (particularly love when Eva joined in!) and then left them to the finishing touches whilst I got myself in place for the ceremony. And it was such a sweet ceremony! The shot of Billie wiping away a tear during the vows is going to be a forever favourite of mine I think!
After the ceremony (and a brief tantrum from Eva who had spotted the cake and wasn’t at all impressed with the idea of waiting until after tea to try it!), everyone headed out for drinks in the drawing room and conservatory. We whipped through some family photos, and then Billie and the girls (very briefly!) braved the drizzle and freezing winds for a few photos outside. It was one of those days where I just kept one eye on the sky and when I saw a break in the rain I grabbed Bille & Scott and we dashed out into the grounds for a quick round of portraits. Fortunately we were spoiled for choice with photo spots inside as well, so when the rain started up again we got some lovely photos in one of the big windows downstairs, and also some slightly darker ones on a staircase (I was drawn in by the wallpaper!).
I left the newlyweds to chat with their guests whilst I photographed everything ready for the wedding breakfast, and then we managed to convince Eva to finally be in a couple of photos (her desire for cake was strong, and eventually she won. As they always do haha!).
The it was receiving line and wedding breakfast time. I popped back in for the speeches after the meal, and then it was time to get ready for the evening reception. Just before everyone was called in for the first dance I got a quick shot of Billie and Scott on the main staircase and then it was party time!
Here are my favourite photos from their day, huge thank you to Billie and Scott for having me along. And to Jenny Maden for recommending me! x
