Rudding Park Wedding Harrogate | Emma & James.
Rudding Park Wedding Harrogate. Emma and James were married on August bank holiday weekend and what a scorcher it was! I admit I was finally in the autumn mindset and had to do an emergency wash of my summer clothes to get me through the weekend – not traditional bank holiday weather at all!
I joined Emma and her lovely bridesmaids and mum at Rudding Park where hair and makeup were well underway in one of the conference rooms. It was lovely to see Caroline Louise again having just worked with her three days before! She was there with Evangeline MUA as part of Your Bridal Team, and what a team they are – everyone looked incredible, and Emma’s makeup was flawless! I briefly left the girls to get some shots of Emma’s beautiful Blue by Enzoani gown and other details before nipping back up to catch Emma having her hair done and seeing her gorgeous little boy, George. Who hadn’t napped as planned and was not impressed when confronted with a room filled with women!
Meanwhile my amazing second shooter Lissa met James and the boys when they arrived at Rudding to get some shots of them donning buttonholes and greeting friends and family before the ceremony. When it was time for Emma to get dressed I headed back to the bridal suite with the girls. The bridesmaids quickly changed whilst I did my mad tidying act and then we kicked them into the adjacent rooms so Emma could get her dress on and ready for the big reveal!
We let the girls back in to see the finished product and I think it’s safe to say they were impressed! I got a few shots of Emma before her dad and little George arrived to see her. Dad was blown away, George did not seem to be a fan! I made my way down to say hi to James and to get in place for the ceremony. The Radcliffe room looked incredible with chairs from Fulford Flowers and fairy light ceiling from Christ Hilton Events.
With Lissa at the back of the room and me at the front we were able to get Emma walking down the aisle to James, and his reaction to seeing her walk towards him which I love – major bonus of having two photographers! After the ceremony George seemed to warm to Emma again – I guess he finally got used to her new look, though he still didn’t seem keen on the feel of her dress!
Emma and James made their way outside into the sunshine (or rather the shade as it was bloody boiling)! And after a few hello hugs we organised a confetti bombing on the steps. They had a lovely long drinks reception so we let them have a break to chat and have some canapés before working through their group photo list – we even managed to get George in a few which I was well impressed with given his lack of nap!
We decided to forge on with photos and I took Emma and James around to the gardens at the back of the hotel for some shots of the two of them. Lissa and I spent the rest of the reception capturing Emma and James and their loved ones enjoying their day, and lots of lovely detail shots of The Radcliffe Room set up for dinner.
Guests where then seated for the speeches, after which dinner was served. After the wedding breakfast there was some time before the evening reception and the sun was doing its late-summer-evening-glow-thing so I grabbed Emma and James and led them out into the bushes for more photos – I’m not as weird as I sound! 😀
It was soon time for the cake cutting and first dance. I always stay for a few songs after the first dance for some shots of everyone busting a move, but it soon became clear that it was way too hot for much of that so I left them all to cool down and more likely to enjoy more drinks!
Thank you Emma and James for asking me to photograph your wedding, it was an absolute pleasure! And if you are planning a wedding at Rudding park please do get in touch!
