Swinton Park Wedding Photography Lindsay & Chris
Swinton Park wedding photography. Lindsay & Chris were married at the incredible Swinton Park in Masham on a gloriously sunny Saturday in June. I absolutely adored the colourful bouquets by Forage and Blossom which had a “just picked” feel to them; very unstructured and full of texture. I also loved that Lindsay wore her mother’s vintage wedding dress (with a few alterations!).
Lindsay and Chris wanted to whole day to be very relaxed and intimate, with just their closest friends and family. And their completely adorable little girl Eliza (check out her beautiful blonde curls!) who managed to keep her floral crown on throughout the ENTIRE ceremony, despite needing some convincing to put it on in the first place, success! I think my favourite photos from the day are Lindsay and Eliza playing under her veil on the stairs.
The ceremony was held in the main building, followed by drinks in the gardens. I took the newlyweds for a brief stroll around the grounds (and as always got overexcited about the rhododendrons) before heading back for a few relaxed family photos. Then it was time to head up to the Deerhouse, so everyone slowly wandered up through the parkland and over the stream (!) to the the top of the hill for more drinks, games and of course food! And yes I do mean an actual deerhouse, complete with antlers, rustic wooden beams and beautiful old stone walls. It’s an incredible setting for a wedding, and the building was styled out to perfection by Forage & Blossom with lots more colourful blooms in informal garden-style arrangements.
After the meal and a few speeches I hijacked Lindsay & Chris again and we walked back through the fields and down to the stream for a few more photographs. The views from the top of the hill were incredible, with Swinton Park in the background and the rolling North Yorkshire countryside beyond (see above!). There was no evening reception so that was my time to head home leaving the happy couple to stroll back up to their guests. And probably spend their first 10 minutes alone together since they got married! x
