The Alma Inn Wedding Photography Laneshawbridge | Emily + Tom
Alma Inn Wedding Photography. Emily & Tom were married at The Alma in Laneshawbridge on a damp and windy day between Christmas and New Year.
I met Emily & her bridesmaids and mum at The Alma Inn before the ceremony where they were all having their hair and make up done by the fab Rachel Marie. I spent my time popping back and forth between bridal HQ and Emily ‘s room capturing her dress and other details. The time flew by as always and before long it was time for Emily to get dressed with the help of her mum and sister. I always love to see the look on bride’s face when she finally sees everything come together, and the smile Emily wore lit up the room! Her bridesmaids surprised her with a pair of personalised Converse which she was clearly very pleased with! The we all headed to the bridal suite for a few photos and to let Emily’s dad in to see her all ready to go.
I made my way downstairs to grab a few shots of the room set up for the ceremony and of Tom and the guys before everyone headed in to take their seats. Emily and her very proud dad came beaming down the aisle and then Tom was beaming too, and I don’t think they stopped all day! The ceremony was lovely, full of joy and laughter (mostly at Emily’s dad who missed his cue!).
Afterwards Emily & Tom walked back up the aisle and through to the bar to grab a drink and greet their guests. The skies were looking ominous but the rain was holding off so we took our chance to organise a confetti bombing outside followed by some group photos. The wind and the temperature soon forced everyone back inside but I stayed out with Emily & Tom to get lots of shots of the two of them around the Alma Inn. The views up there are beautiful and we were even treated to a tiny bit of late afternoon sun before heading back in to warm up. The room was ready for the wedding breakfast by then so I snuck in for a few shots of that before the guests were seated for speeches. Emily & Tom were announced to huge applause and it was on with the speeches. Always nice to get them done before dinner if there are a few nerves building! Not that you could tell once they got started – as someone with a huge phobia of public speaking I’m always impressed by the speeches (and I enjoy finding out too much about the groom!).
I left them all alone then to enjoy their food in peace and rejoined them later on for the cake cutting and ceilidh. except the ceilidh band never turned up! Luckily their lovely DJ managed to find a few ceilidh tunes and they made up their own dances. these guys were just the loveliest most chilled out couple to spend the day with and I had such a great time. I hope they got their money back for the band, however! Huge congratulations Emily & Tom, and thanks for having me along!
