Tithe Barn Wedding Photographer | Becky + Matt.
Tithe Barn Wedding Photographer. A few weeks before their wedding I met up with Becky & Matt to talk through their big day and said “it rarely pours down all day, there’s usually a break in the clouds”. Oops, I jinxed it! It did indeed pour down from before the ceremony until way after I got home! Though in my defence, it wasn’t raining when I arrived at Becky’s parents at 10:00 AM 🙂 Happily the weather didn’t seem to bother these too much at all – they had a beautiful venue with options for wet weather drinks and photos, and were surrounded by their favourite people!
I joined Becky and her family and bridesmaids mid-hair-and-makeup-prep. I grabbed a few shots of Becky’s beautiful custom made dress by Susan from Bridal Apparel in Rawdon and her amazing hand-painted shoes by I Do Custom Shoes! Then I rejoined Becky and the girls downstairs to capture her having the finishing touches to hair and make up, and to get lots of lovely candid shots of everyone enjoying a glass of fizz before it was time to get dressed.
Becky had kept her dress a surprise from her bridesmaids as well as her dad and brother. When she was ready (with the help of her mum) I gathered the bridesmaids downstairs for the big reveal, followed by her dad and brother. They were all pretty overwhelmed, and rightly so! I headed off to the Tithe Barn to see Matt before the ceremony and get a few shots of the barn set up. The rain had kicked up a notch when I arrived but the barn has a huge porch at the entrance which is perfect for wet wedding photos!
It was soon time for everyone to take their seats. Becky walked down the aisle with the biggest smile on her face – I love the shot of her grinning at Matt when she reaches the bottom of the aisle! The ceremony was perfect and full of perfect touches, including lovely readings by Becky’s brother and Matt’s sister. After the ceremony Becky and Matt boogied back up the aisle and I took them outside into the front porch for some photos of the two of them whilst their guests grabbed a drink and canapés. There was plenty of space in there for group photos too so we pulled Becky and Matt’s friends and family out a group at the time and rattled through our list in record time! I snuck Becky and Matt back inside for a few more photos inside the barn by the huge glass doors at the bottom end of the building, before letting them rejoin everyone for the rest of the drinks reception. I got some shots of the barn ready for the wedding breakfast (they are absolute pros at changing the set up at the Tithe Barn!) plus a few candid shots of people enjoying the drinks reception, and we even managed a small confetti tunnel back in the main entrance before dinner.
Speeches were before the meal and they were wonderful. Becky and Matt had also organised singing waiters to interrupt Becky’s “speech” before it started and they were brilliant – everyone was up on their feet dancing and singing along which made for great photos!
Dinner was served and I left them all to enjoy their food before the cake cutting and first dance. Becky & Matt had booked Func On The Rocks wedding band who were amazing – I highly recommend them. I stayed for a few songs and the dance floor was packed! People then headed outside for some sparklers (got to be done at an autumn wedding!) and then it was time for me to head home.
Thank you Becky and Matt for asking me to capture your wedding, I had an amazing time with you all! If you are planning a wedding at the Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey please do contact me; it’s like my second home at this point! 😀 x
