Wakefield Wedding Photographer | Emma & Liam
Wakefield wedding photographer. You wouldn’t have guessed it from the beautiful morning I spent with Emma and her family and bridesmaids, I have never seen a rain shower as heavy as the one that hit us at this wedding! And when did it strike? When the bridesmaids were waiting for Emma on the path to the church, naturally! They had umbrellas but I’m pretty sure there is yet to be a brolly invented that could have handled that downpour.
Happily it was brief and Emma’s lovely bridesmaids really rocked “damp and dishevelled” chic. Seriously these girls were amazing, exactly the kind of bridesmaids you want – they were in hysterics drying off in the church bathroom and instead of flapping and bemoaning their more-than-slightly out of place hair they rallied and headed back to the door to great Emma and her dad who had been circling the block waiting for a break in the clouds.
After a beautiful and laughter-filled ceremony Emma & Liam excited the church in very well executed confetti tunnel (the more confetti the better, always!) and we all headed back into Heath where the marquee and drinks were waiting. The sun reappeared and lasted for the rest of the day, so whilst everyone headed through to the gardens I held on to Emma & Liam for a few relaxed photos of the two of them. Which they nailed!
Then it was back to the marquee for some fun group photos before they finally got rid of me and enjoyed a drink with their guests! I headed into the marquee to get some shots of everything set up for the wedding breakfast – I love a marquee, the light inside is always so airy and soft, plus I love to see how people deck them out! Emma & Liam had opted for a simple but elegant mix of greens and whites which worked so well.
After that I performed my standard ninja act amongst the guests, mostly with success – I’m normally spotted a few times. At least this crowd were happy to perform for the camera instead of turning their back on me!
Before long it was time to head in for speeches (which were bloody brilliant, and lasted so long they required a loo break!) and food. The skies clouded over in the early evening but I still managed to coax Emma & Liam out for a few more photos before party time.
Big thanks to Emma & Liam for having me along, it was so wonderful to be a part of your wedding! x
