Wedding Photographer at Wood Hall Hotel | Laura & James

Wedding photographer at Wood Hall. May saw me back at at this beautiful venue for Laura & James’s wedding – a fun, relaxed, happy day filled with smiles and classically stylish details. The weather was a bit more April than May with a few showers here and there, but we seemed to time it just right with the worst of the weather happening as we were travelling from the church to Wood Hall – winner!

I met up with Laura at the Hotel Du Vin in Harrogate where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids before heading to St. John the Baptist in Knaresborough to see James and the guys for a couple of quick group photos and to catch the guests arriving. The rain started just as people had finished leaving the church so we managed the world’s tiniest confetti blast and all made a mad dash for the car park to meet up again at Wood Hall. Since it was still drizzling when we arrived I left Laura & James to chat with their guests and grab a drink whilst I captured the beautiful details all set up ready for the wedding breakfasts – the Jo Malone favours have to be some of my favourite so far, that’s a wedding I want to be a guest at! 😉 The room was filled with amazing displays of foliage and classic white tulips on the tables on window ledges, all by Caine of Harrogate.

I spotted a break in the clouds so we headed outside for some relaxed group photos with Laura & James’s family, ushers and bridesmaids (plus one adorable flower girl!), and I then took the happy couple for a spin around the gardens in the spring sunshine. And as quick is that it was time for the receiving line and FOOD! Followed by some excellent speeches; everyone was in stitches, though I think poor Laura might be the most embarrassed bride I’ve seen yet! A quick turnaround of the room and the real party could start, with music by Chris Hilton’s Little Big Band – I love these guys, they always get the dance floor filled up!
