Wedding Photographer for Carlton Towers | Zara & Tom
Wedding Photographer for Carlton Towers. Zara & Tom were married at Carlton Towers on what ended up being a beautiful winters afternoon. Though you wouldn’t have guessed it from the pea soup fog that greeted me when I arrived in the morning!
Zara was getting ready in one of the rooms downstairs whilst the bridal suite was being prepared, with her hair and make up being taken care of by the fab Anna Stephenson. Her bridesmaids and family arrived a bit later to start getting ready themselves, and then we all headed upstairs to the bridal suite where Zara’s dress was waiting! I got a few shots of her dress and then it was time for her to get ready. Once she was in I headed downstairs to say hi to Tom before the ceremony. I took my place at the top of the aisle to see Zara make her entrance, and what an entrance it was! She opted to walk down solo and in fact I’d say she practically glided! The ceremony was lovely with plenty of emotion on all sides, and perfect winter sun shining in on Zara and Tom.
Afterwards they walked back up down the aisle and waited out in the entrance hall to greet their guests and enjoy a quick drink before I grabbed them for photos. The fog had lifted and the sun was shining so we managed to get the group photos done at the bottom of the amazing staircase at the main entrance.
I let everyone warm up back inside, and nipped in to the Long Gallery to capture the beautiful wedding breakfast set up – I loved the tall centrepiece of eucalyptus on the top table by their brilliant florist Natasha Jane. Then I took Zara and Tom for a wander around the private garden at the side of Carlton Towers for lots of lovely shots of the two of them in the hazy winter sun.A few more shots in front of the building and it was back inside to enjoy the rest of the drinks reception before dinner.
Soon everyone was seated for the meal, and Zara & Tom were announced to much cheering and applause. Speeches followed the wedding breakfast and were equal parts touching and hilarious. We had a bit of time before the evening reception started so I grabbed Zara & Tom for a couple of photos upstairs on the landing and then let them go and rehearse what they had been planning with the bridal party!
And so Zara, Tom and some of their closest friends opened the evening ceremony with some amazing Bollywood dancing. Made all the more amazing by the fact that they had only been able to rehearse all together 20 minutes before! The DJ then got the party started and I grabbed some more dance floor shots before heading home.
Thank you so much Zara & Tom for asking me to capture your wedding, it was such a joy! And if you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding at Carlton Towers please do get in touch!
