Wedding Photographer Yorkshire | Best of 2018

Wedding Photographer Yorkshire. 2018. My sixth year as a full time photographer. Gone. Already. I cannot believe what a whirlwind this past year has been!

From barns to stately homes, church services to outdoor ceremonies under the blazing sun, I’ve been so lucky to capture some incredible weddings this year, and to meet the most wonderful people. And then of course there was the weather! I mean, we’ve had actual seasons!

So here it is, a (not so) small selection of my favourite images from my 2018 weddings. A few engagement shoots to start with and then I’ve laid them out in roughly the order you’d expect them on a wedding day. As always with these “Best of…” blogs I’ve chosen a selection of photos that I think reflect my style of wedding photography, to give you new brides- and grooms-to-be an idea of what to expect if you’re thinking of booking me. Natural, fun, beautiful, relaxed, romantic, unobtrusive are a few of the words I often hear when people tell me what they’re looking for from their wedding photos. I hope this collection ticks all those boxes and more!

Hugest of huge thanks you’s to everyone who has put their trust in me this year, it means so much. And to everyone who has booked me for 2019 and 2020 – thank you as well, I’m EXCITED! I’m almost fully booked for 2019 actually, so if you are thinking about enquiring then please do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!

Shout out to some of the wonderful venues I’ve worked at this year – Goldsborough Hall, Rudding Park, The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey, The Sun Pavilion, The Orangery at Settrington, The Manor House Lindley, The Red Lion Burnsall, Hotel Du Vin York, Hazlewood Castle, Holdsworth House, The Alma Inn, The Lowther Hotel, Wood Hall Hotel, East Keswick Village Hall, The Hospitium, The Huntsman Inn, and so many others.

And of course the most enormous thank you to my awesome second shooters who are responsible for some of these photos – Lissa Alexandra Photography, Jamie Sia Photography and Eleanor Woodruff Photography

OK, I’m definitely finished waffling now. Enjoy! x

    Oh, hey!I'm Laura.

    PEOPLE WATCHER.

    STORYTELLER.

    MOTHER.

    CAKE PLEASE.

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
