Woodlands Hotel Wedding Leeds | Rebecca & Kayne

Woodlands Hotel Wedding Leeds. After a cloudy start to the day we were treated to perfect autumn weather for this pair; cool, crisp and bright. One of my favourite kind of days! I first met Kayne when I photographed his sister Lauren’s wedding back in 2014 (time is going waaaaaay too fast!) and I was delighted when he got in touch and asked me to capture his wedding to Rebecca. And I got to catch up with Lauren and Bob and meet their gorgeous little boy! My job is the best 🙂

I started the day with Rebecca and her bridesmaids at Woodlands, first capturing all the lovely details of Rebecca’s dress, shoes and accessories (so all the girly stuff!) and then some candid shots of everyone getting ready. I also disposed of a rogue wasp who clearly hadn’t gotten the memo that summer was over – all part of the service! 😀

Since everything was happening at the same venue I managed to sneak down for some shots of the ceremony set up, and also grabbed Kayne and the guys for a few photos before heading up to see Rebecca get dressed. A quick couple of portraits of Rebecca and it was time to get wed!

After the ceremony everyone made their way out on to the terrace to say hello to the happy couple and enjoy a few drinks in the autumn sun. The forecast was looking great and we had loads of time so we worked our way through some group photos and the I left everyone for a bit of a breather whilst I headed inside to photograph all the wedding breakfast details. Make sure to check the incredible cake by Cakezilla as well as the amazing centrepieces by Alina Florist. I also loved the little hints to the time of year, especially the mini copper and white pumpkins which I know Kayne was keen to spray paint, hahaha! 😉

The light was perfect as I headed back out to find Kayne and Rebecca, and we spent some time wandering the gardens in the sun and taking some photos of just the two of them. As you’ll see, my obsession with a cathedral length veil continues!

Then it was time to take a seat for the speeches and wedding breakfast. There was a nice long break after the meal whilst the staff at Woodlands changed the room around for the evening do. I grabbed my chance to get a couple more photos of Rebecca & Kayne in the woods around the grounds whilst it was still light. And took them out again after dark just for a few minutes so that I could play with my flash!

Bonfire night was the next day so obviously there had to be sparklers at some point, which I love! Though I admit to being a bit paranoid and confiscating a few drinks whilst they were being lit 😀

Not long after we were all called back in for the cake cutting and first dance, and then the real party started!

Huge thanks to Rebecca and Kayne for trusting me to capture their big day, it was an absolute pleasure!

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 4 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 6 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*I say slightly, she recently told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she names everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots.
