Hi, I'm Laura - a Yorkshire wedding photographer, baby photographer and family photographer. I live near Ilkley but cover Leeds, York, Harrogate, Sheffield and, well, just about anywhere. I have a highly energetic 8 year old called Rose who is too clever for her own good, a few too many pets for my mental load to handle, a mild floral addiction, and I'm mostly powered by tea, Gin and ice cream. When I'm not working I can be found wandering the beautiful Yorkshire countryside with my camera (I can never put it down for long), catching up with friends, or enjoying a mammoth Netflix binge. And eating!
I spent a looooong time looking at my computer screen, staring off into space, and even going “old skool” with pen and paper, trying to find the best (and most concise) way to describe my style of photography. In a nutshell, I’m all about the love, man. I’m so lucky that my job allows me to step into the lives of so many people and families, if only for a short time. I love hearing their stories and helping them to tell a new one. Oh, and flowers. Gah but I love the flowers.
For weddings, it's all about the story. I want to share the whole day with you; from the nervous excitement of the bridal preparations, through the wobbling voices and "I must not cry on camera" faces of the ceremony and speeches, to the crazy dance floor action (and let me tell you, I have seen some MOVES). I also love to capture all the little details and special touches that make your wedding, yours. The flowers, the dress, the cake, the stationery, the shoes, the flowers (like I said, it's an addiction). And of course I want to spend some time with just the two of you, creating some beautiful portraits. Now I know that will make some of you nervous, but don't worry, you will love this bit! Together we'll pick out some great locations, I'll stand you together, and then I'll step back and just let you two be you two. I want to make sure that your photos are personal and meaningful to you. So if you're the kind of couple who automatically wrap their arms around each other and get super close then great, that's what I'll capture. Or if you prefer to wander around and laugh at how daft you feel then great, I'll capture that too.
I have photographed weddings all over Yorkshire and a few further afield, and I'm very honoured to even be recommended by some of my favourites, including The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey, East Riddlesden Hall, Carlton Towers, Goldsborough Hall, The Hawkhills York and The Sun Pavilion Harrogate.

For portrait shoots, whether it's snuggling up at home with your newborn, chasing your toddler through the park, or skimming stones and climbing trees with your eldest, I want you to have as much fun as possible and barely ever notice I'm there. Again, it's a story; of who you all were together at that moment, of what you loved doing together and the places you went. Don't expect to sit still for long! And I rarely say "cheese".*
*Disclaimer - I actually do sometimes say "cheese". Partly because I find the "cheese" face hilarious, and also so I can make fun of it and capture the real laugh that follows!
Are you expecting or have you recently had a baby? Or do you simply want some beautiful photographs of you and your family?
