About The Shoot.
Families
My family photography shoots usually take place outdoors where your little ones can run around, and we are spoilt for choice here in Yorkshire! However we can absolutely do the shoot at your home if you prefer. The sessions are very relaxed and mostly documentary in style - I'll provide a little guidance but I'm mostly there to capture you all as you are together.
As with my other portrait shoots I don't have strict rules about what to wear, although I do recommend avoiding big logos or cartoon characters. If you do want more advice on outfits choices I've written a blog post with lots of helpful tips on what to wear! It's mostly important that you're comfortable and feel like yourselves.
About the shoot.
Babies (1 month to 1 year)
Baby shoots can be done at your home, or if it's warm enough we can meet outdoors somewhere. If we're at your home I'll usually try and get some of them in a favourite outfit and some with no clothes on. If you're not comfortable with this we can do some in just a plain white vest so we can still see those gorgeous folds and little toes!
I like to get a mixture of shots of baby by themselves and also some with you, even if it's just your arms giving them a cuddle!

Recent WORK
LOTTIE & TOM // I think it`s fair to say Storm Boele wasn`t on the guest list for Saturday, but it turned up anyway 😂 From confetti onwards, the rain barely let up, although we did manage to get outside for sparklers later that evening.
Lottie got ready at her family home just outside Harrogate, which has the most amazing views. Their 3 family dogs kept everyone company, with Louise Lunn on make-up duties, and Lottie`s uncle doing her hair. A pretty lovely way to start the day.
After a ceremony at the local church, where their vicar (a family friend) was amazing and so accommodating with us taking photos, Lottie and Tom headed off in her dad`s VW Beetle convertible. The drizzle started just as we left the church for confetti, and pretty much didn`t stop for the rest of the day.
Thankfully, the Tithe Barn feels extra cosy in the rain, especially in autumn with all the fairy lights. Their bridal party were so much fun, there were some great speeches, plus Marc & Abi did their usual thing of keeping the dance floor busy all night. We even managed to get outside for sparklers after dark, which felt like a small miracle by that point! Also, always a pleasure working alongside Oliver Mitchell on video. He`s brilliant at what he does and just so lovely to work with.

JESS & JO // I spent last Friday in beautiful York celebrating Jess and Jo, who tied the knot at the registry office before heading to No 1 by Guesthouse for drinks with their favourite people. They finished their day with pizza at Rudy’s - a pretty good way to spend a Friday if you ask me!
York is full of brilliant spots for photos, and this time of year makes it even better. The autumn leaves were showing off in all their reds, oranges and yellows, and we had a lovely wander around the Museum Gardens with Jess and Jo for some photos of the two of them.
Autumn is hands down my favourite time of year, and York might just be one of the best places to enjoy it. Add in two lovely people and a very good amount of pizza, and you’ve got a pretty perfect Friday. 🍂

Back to the end of August for this one at Camp Katur.
We spent most of the morning expecting a washout, but the weather actually behaved itself for their woodland ceremony. Always a bonus when you`re photographing an outdoor wedding!
The rest of the day had a bit of everything, and the evening was particularly good fun. Fire dancers, burlesque dancers and one seriously good band. The dancefloor was still going strong all night.

A few more from this lovely day at the Tithe Barn. Jess and Joe had such a good mix of everything, from the more emotional moments to plenty of laughs and a brilliant party. The black tie looked great, the flowers were gorgeous and everyone seemed to be having a pretty good time. Always nice when a wedding comes together like that!
