MEGAN & OWEN // A wedding in two parts, starting with a small ceremony at The Timble Inn with their close family, followed by drinks on the lawn and a delicious lunch back at the pub. There was plenty of colourful paper confetti on the lane outside the chapel, although Owen’s dad decided Owen himself needed a bit more of it and tipped the rest of the bag over his head 😂

After lunch, everyone else headed off to Weetons in Harrogate, while Megan, Owen and I stayed behind for some photos around the Timble Inn and over at Swinsty Reservoir.

Then we made our way to Weetons too, where all of Megan & Owen`s friends and the rest of the family were waiting for them. They arrived through a bubble tunnel (bubble guns for the win!), followed by drinks, mini golf and of course, Owen’s speech. Which brings me to the small matter of the giving of ‘wedding lettuce’. It`s a new tradition and I don`t think anyone knows what the rules are yet, but I`m sure it`ll catch on!

Grazing boards followed, then the room was transformed for the party. After their first dance, Owen surprised Megan by changing into the shiny flared jumpsuit he`d been made to wear on his stag do. Naturally, this was followed by tequila shots being handed out on the dance floor - my kind of party!

CLAIRE & BEN // A brilliant day at Camp Katur for these two at the end of last month 🤍

We thought it was going to rain pretty much all day, so Claire & Ben brought their ceremony forward to 11am to try and beat it. Thankfully, it barely drizzled in the end and they got to have their outdoor ceremony in the woods, which was definitely worth the early start!

Claire got ready with her friends doing her hair and make up, and the whole day had such a relaxed, fun feel to it. And then the evening got a little bit wild 🤘 Burlesque and fire dancers appeared as a surprise for the guests, and in between were two amazing sets by their band Kerrashed!, who were one of the best bands I`ve seen at a wedding. The dance floor was absolutely heaving all night and I got to relive all of my teenage angst 😆

Camp Katur Wedding | Woodland Wedding Ceremony | Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

One of my favourite parts of a wedding day is spotting all the little moments that happen in between the big ones.

The proud smiles from across the room. A quick squeeze of the hand. Someone wiping away a tear when they think nobody`s looking. Those tiny moments often end up meaning just as much as the confetti, the first kiss or the first dance.

Aldwark Manor Wedding | York Wedding Photographer | Outdoor Wedding UK

CHELSIE & FRANK // A lovely sunny day in Ilkley for these two, with their wedding taking place at All Saints Church before heading over to the Kings Hall & Winter Gardens for the reception.

Chelsie got ready at home with her parents and their two little ones, with Charlotte from Beauty in Bloom in Ilkley doing her hair and make up. It was really lovely having the kids around throughout the morning and seeing them involved in the day too.

After the ceremony we had a nice long drinks reception in the Winter Gardens, which is such a great space for wandering around and catching all the little moments as everyone catches up, has a few drinks and generally enjoys themselves. There was also an amazing cake from Bella’s Bakes, which definitely needed a few photos of its own!

A really lovely family-focused day, and I always like weddings where everything is close to home. It means the day feels a bit more personal and you get to bring together all the people and places that are already part of your life.
