Suzanne Neville for a Spring Wedding at The Coniston Hotel | Wedding Photography

Wedding Photography Coniston Hotel. Laura & Joseph were married at The Coniston Hotel on a beautiful day in March. Blue skies and sunshine all day – we couldn’t believe how lucky we were!

I joined Laura and her bridesmaids and mum at The Coniston Hotel where they were all getting ready in one of the suites. Emily Hawkes was already working on everyone’s hair, and Cat Johnson was stating on Laura’s make up when I arrived. I started by capturing Laura’s beautiful Suzanne Neville dress and other details, and nipped back and forth to get some shots of her make up being finished. Two of the bridesmaids were Laura’s sisters and Maid of Honour Nicole was her best friend from age 4 so they all knew each other really well and the room rang with relaxed, happy chatter and laughter.

Little flower girl Kyah arrived and soon it was time for everyone to get dressed. Laura’s dress took a little longer to get into than expected but we got there in the end! I stayed to capture her dad’s reaction to seeing her all ready to go and then made my way down the MacLeod Suite in time for the ceremony. I said a quick hi to Joe and then captured the guests taking their seats.

Nervous tension mounted until the bridesmaids and then Laura made their entrance. It was a lovely ceremony, with Laura trying to hold back the tears pretty much all the way through – mostly successfully!

After the ceremony Laura and Joseph walked back up the aisle and out into the conservatory to grab a drink and greet their friends and family. Laura & Joseph wanted to stay close to the hotel so we headed out onto the terrace overlooking the lake for a few photos of the two of them. Everyone else soon joined us outside for confetti and some group photos.

We let them back indoors to warm up, and then I snuck into the suite to capture all the details of the wedding breakfast set up.

The time flew by as it always does, and it was soon time for everyone to take their seats for the meal. Laura & Joseph were announced to great applause and I left them all to eat in peace.

I re-joined everyone for the speeches which were hilarious and touching – spotted Laura holding in the tears again!. I also loved the surprise song Laura’s sisters had written and performed after best man Liam’s speech in which they basically ripped Joseph to shreds and called him fat! The cheese “cake” was cut and then we had a break whilst the Bannister Suite was made ready for the evening reception.

Laura & Joseph got the party started with their first dance and then it was time to boogie. I captured Laura throwing her bouquet and then left them all to dance the night away.

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.
