Chilli Barn Wedding – Sophie & Nick’s Sunny October Celebration in Otley

There’s something extra special about an autumn wedding when the sun decides to show up—and Sophie and Nick absolutely won the weather lottery for their Chilli Barn Wedding. Their October day was filled with golden light, relaxed joy, and the kind of atmosphere that you want to bottle.

The girls got ready at The Chevin Country House Hotel nearby, and from the moment I arrived there was a calm excitement in the air. Sophie looked incredible in her gown by Made with Love—elegant, modern, and effortlessly romantic. The dress moved beautifully throughout the day (always a win for photos), and paired perfectly with the seasonal florals by Leafy Couture. Think warm autumn tones, natural textures, and that slightly wild, just-picked feel that works so well in a countryside barn setting.

After the ceremony, one of the absolute highlights was the arrival of Olive, Sophie and Nick’s adorable Cavapoo, brought along by the wonderful team at Bow Wow Vow. Having your dog included in your wedding without the stress is honestly genius, and Olive completely stole the show for a few portraits (while still letting the couple keep their spotlight—mostly!).

The sunshine stayed with us right into the wedding breakfast, which meant we were gifted the dreamiest golden hour right as everyone was finishing their meals. We snuck out to the field behind the venue just as the sun started to dip, and it was magic. That soft October light, the Yorkshire countryside, and two very loved-up humans —it’s the recipe for those natural, emotive images couples always hope for.

As the evening kicked off, the energy shifted from relaxed countryside romance to full-on party mode. The dance floor was absolutely packed—barely any room to move—which is always the sign of a brilliant wedding. Guests were all in from the first song, and the atmosphere stayed high all night long.

Sophie and Nick’s wedding was the perfect example of why I love photographing at this venue: beautiful surroundings, laid-back vibes, and couples who just want to soak up every second.
