A Spring Wedding at Lodge Farm North Yorkshire| Kate & Josh

Lodge Farm Wedding Photography. Kate & Josh were married on the most perfect spring day at Lodge Farm Barns in Cundall. I joined Kate and her bridesmaids at the farmhouse on site where they were all busy having their hair done by Salon 54. I started with some shots of Kate’s beautiful Claire Pettibone gown downstairs before the boys arrived to take over that room, and then busied myself capturing the girls getting ready. With everything being in one location I was able to nip back and forth between the barns to get some shots of things set up for the ceremony, the boys struggling with their ties and buttonholes, and the girls finishing off their make up. Soon it was time for Kate to get dressed and the ceremony to begin. It was such a gloriously sunny day and the barn was full of light. Kate & Josh’s gorgeous little flower girl and nephew started the procession off with some very dedicated petal dropping, followed by the bridesmaids and then Kate and her dad. The ceremony was full of laughs and Kate & Josh were quickly pronounced husband and wife before heading back outside into the sun for a confetti line up.

We had loads of time before speeches and dinner which was great because it meant that I could let Kate & Josh spend plenty of time chatting with their guests and enjoying the incredible canapés by Nomad Catering. Next up were a handful of group photos and then I whisked Kate & Josh off into the woods and fields for some shots of the two of them without an audience! They were total naturals, and it wasn’t long before I had plenty of great shots of the two of them together and we wandered back to the barn for me to get some photos of everything set up for the wedding breakfast and then it was time to be seated for the speeches.

Kate’s dad, Josh, and best man Sam all put on a great show and then the food was served. And it was mouth watering food from Nomad Catering! Kate & Josh very kindly sorted a full meal for me (including dessert, my favourite course!) and it was so good. I’m vegan so sometimes the food can be a little, unimaginative let’s say! But this meal was incredible, I can’t recommend Nomad enough.

After dessert we were starting to lose the light so I grabbed Kate & Josh and took them outside for a few more photos around the barn, which looked fab in the twilight with the festoon lighting hanging across the courtyard. We headed back in for the cake cutting and then a bit of a break before the party began. Kate & Josh kicked things off with their first dance and then the dance floor filled and I got some great shots of everyone dancing before heading home.

Huge thanks to Kate & Josh for trusting me to capture their wedding at Lodge Farm Weddings, it was such a pleasure! If you’re planning a wedding at Lodge Farm then please do drop me a message so we can chat more!

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
