My Yorkshire Wedding Photo Highlights | 2023

Yorkshire Wedding Photo highlights. Best wedding photographs in Yorkshire

Yorkshire Wedding Photo Highlights incoming! Another year has flown by. At risk of sounding like a Nana, they seem to go quicker every year!

2023 was my 11th wedding season, I actually can’t believe it. I remember so well back in 2012 when I was mid-PhD and pretty miserable, second shooting weddings on the weekends and wondering if I’d be able to make a go of it on my own. And here I am, over 300 weddings later – blows my mind!

Anyway, back to 2023. What a cracking wedding season it has been. From Spring blossom to autumn leaves, plenty of rain in August and sweltering heat in early September! I’ve loved it all.

I always enjoy doing an annual roundup of my favourite photos from the year. It’s so nice to look back at all my happy couples and reminisce about their wedding days. That’s exactly why I do this job – to try and take people back to a moment in time and remember how they felt. I can’t ever really say why I pick the ones I do, probably there’s lots of reasons. Sometimes it’s the light dahling. Always it’s the people. And of course the dogs haha! Below you’ll find 150 of my faves from 2023 (I’m sorry, that’s as far as I could go narrowing it down!). First there’s a slideshow or keep scrolling to each pic in all it’s glory! You’ll see there are lots of “in betweens” – a laugh in between group photos, a tear in between speeches, a look in between vows. Those are my favourite things to capture on a wedding day. Plus there’s plenty of unrestrained joy, some relaxed couple portraits, sweet moments with friends and family, and some mad dance floor action. Basically all the things I want from a wedding day!

Huge thanks to my ace second shooters this year – Lissa Alexandra, Jamie Sia and Matt Sim. And also to all the lovely suppliers I’ve worked with and venues I’ve worked at. Including The Tithe Barn, Rudding Park, Goldsborough Hall, Ripley Castle, The Chilli Barn, Priory Cottages, Thirsk Lodge Barns, Woodstock Weddings, Falcon Manor, Newby Hall and many more! We are so spoilt for choice with amazing wedding venues in Yorkshire!

That’s enough from me. Enjoy my 2023 highlights, and bring on 2024! (And def get in touch with me if you’re planning your wedding for 2024 and beyond!) x

    Oh, hey!I'm Laura.

    PEOPLE WATCHER.

    STORYTELLER.

    MOTHER.

    CAKE PLEASE.

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
