The Hawkhills Wedding Photographer, York | Lindsay & Matt
The Hawkhills Wedding Photographer, York. The Hawkhills is a beautiful 18th Century stately home in Easingwold which is just north of York. The last time I was due to shoot a wedding here I ended up had to arrange for someone to attend in my place (thanks Olivia!) because I’d not long had my little girl – she was not (and is not!) a fan of sleep! So I was excited to be able to shoot here myself at last!
The Hawkhills has a beautiful bridal suite plus another room next door especially for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready. They’re both spacious rooms with lots of natural light so I’m a big fan!
Preparations were well under way when I arrived, and the room was full of happy laughter (as it should be!). Since everything was happening in the same place I managed to head down to get some shots of the room set up for the ceremony. I also grabbed Matt and the guys for a few photos before making my way back up to the bridal suite to capture Lindsay getting into her dress. We had plenty of time so I got some lovely relaxed photos of Lindsay in the bridal suite and then it was ceremony time!
Safe to say that Matt was blown away when he saw Lindsay walking down the aisle (not my most emotional groom to date but he’s near the top of the list!). Their gorgeous little boy Hugo was also clearly very happy to see his mummy!
After the ceremony Lindsay & Matt had a few quiet moments together whilst everyone else headed outside to grab a handful of confetti. A successful confetti-bombing ensued and then it was time for drinks and cakes; my favourite combo 😀
We rounded up Lindsay & Matt’s immediate family and bridal party for a few group photos, and then I left everyone alone for a bit whilst I photographed the wedding breakfast set up.
One of my favourite things about The Hawkhills is the walled orchard so before the weather turned (in theory!) Lindsay, Matt and I made our way there for some photos of the two of them. We suffered a little drizzle but happily I’d already legged it to my car for my “wedding” brolly 😀
We made our way back to the main building where everyone was taking shelter from the rain by the bar (good plan!) before being called in for the speeches.
And again it was all so soon. The cake was cut, the first dance was danced. I stayed to capture some of the dance floor action and then left everyone to enjoy their night.
If you’re getting married at The Hawkhills and looking for a photographer then please do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you! x
