East Riddlesden Hall Wedding Photographer | Kate & Dietrich
East Riddlesden Hall Wedding Photographer. Warning, another HUGE blog post ahead!
This was my first wedding at East Riddlesden Hall and what a beauty it was! I started the day with Kate and her bridesmaids and mum at The Chevin Country Park Hotel outside Otley. They were staying in one of the fab lodges out in the woods surrounding the hotel. Emily Hawkes was in charge of hair for all the girls, with Harriet Steele on make up duties. I highly recommend both of these lovely ladies!
Once everyone was ready there was time for a few group photos and some shots of Kate (the woods made the perfect backdrop!) and then it was off to East Riddlesden.
I arrived before the girls, in time to get some shots of the beautiful ceremony set up by Lynne from Stems Design. Which was AMAZING! Before long the guests started to arrive and make their way into the barn for the service, and I waited outside for Kate and co to arrive.
The ceremony was short but very moving, and after a fair few eyes were dried we all piled out into the afternoon sunshine for confetti and drinks on the lawn.
After a handful of relaxed group photos by the lake I gave everyone a breather and went inside to photograph everything set up for the wedding breakfast. Again Lynne had worked her magic and it looked incredible; lots of soft cream and blush flowers which complimented the gold detailing perfectly, and greenery everywhere! Also check out the fantastic cake table, with the amazing cake handmade by Dee’s mum.
There are endless locations for great photos at East Riddlesden, and we’d scoped out a few at Kate & Dee’s engagement shoot back in the spring. We kept close to the barn in the afternoon since it was coming up to speech time, making use of the sweeping path around to the hall, the fab festoon lighting by Typical Type, and the lawn by the lake with the hall in the background.
Speeches were before the meal (great if you want to get the nerve-wracking bit out of the way so you can enjoy your food!) and then I left everyone to enjoy their food in peace!
After dinner we were treated to some beautiful evening sun so Kate, Dee and I wandered over to the main hall and gardens for more photos in my favourite kind of light! They then hopped on the golf cart which took them back to the barn (whilst I walked, ahem :-D).
That just left the cake cutting and first dance, and then everyone crowded the dance floor for a few songs.
Enough of my rambling now, enjoy the photos! And if you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding at East Riddlesden Hall please do contact me! x
