Hospitium Wedding Photographer York | Kadie & Tom.
Hospitium Wedding Photographer York. The weather finally turned for Kadie and Tom’s beautiful wedding at The Hospitium in York. It was almost as if it was summertime! Kadie and her bridesmaids and family were getting ready at The Principal Hotel in York City Centre so I joined them there in the morning. I loved Kadie’s Justin Alexander gown – it was so elegant and it had POCKETS – my new fave thing in a wedding dress, or any dress really!
Everyone was super relaxed which was wonderful, and I spent a couple of hours capturing them all getting ready. I particularly enjoyed that they shared my love of buying 300 lipsticks all in a similar shade of nude and then never knowing which one to wear! Once Kadie was dressed we got her dad up for the big reveal and then I nipped over to The Hospitium to capture the guests arriving. The ceremony room looked incredible with huge faux blossom tress from Ambience York at the top of the aisle.
Soon everyone was allowed in to take their seats as Kadie arrived by VW camper. Safe to say Tom was completely overwhelmed when Kadie walked down the aisle – and who could blame him? She looked incredible!
After the ceremony Kadie and Tom grabbed a drink and headed outside to greet everyone. These are always some of my favourite photos! Once everyone had piled out into the sunshine we organised a quick confetti blast and then whipped through the more “formal” group photos.
Kadie & Tom decided to plough on with the photos so we wandered around The Hospitium getting a few shots of them together and then I let them have a break!
I made my way inside to get some photos of everything set up for the wedding breakfast. It looked SO GOOD! More blossom trees framed the top table and I loved the combo of green foliage and white flowers with the copper centrepieces which were designed and made by Tom.
We executed a very quick shot of everyone outside and then it was time to head in for the meal. Kadie and Tom had organised singing waiters as a surprise for their guests so I snuck up when the main course was being cleared and tried to causally look like I was getting more candid shots of the guests so that I was ready when the waiters started. Clearly I didn’t give anything away since everyone was very surprised at one of the wait staff serenading them. But they quickly got over their confusion and soon everyone was up and dancing which made for some great photos!
When the waiters were done dessert was served (and I even got one myself – dairy free dessert heaven!). I managed to drag my round, over-stuffed belly back upstairs for the speeches and then everybody made their way down to the bar before the evening reception started.
The early evening sun made an appearance at the perfect time so I grabbed Kadie & Tom for some photos in the ruins of St. Mary’s Abbey now that the crowds had gone home! And just like that it was time for the first dance. I stayed to capture some of the evening guests and the dance floor action and then left them all to party.
Thank you Kadie & Tom for choosing me as your wedding photographer, it was a pleasure! And if you’re getting married at The Hospitium and looking for a photographer then please do get in touch! x
