Home Farm Beamsley Wedding Photography | Sara & Dan.

Home Farm Beamsley Wedding Photography. I was so looking forward to this wedding! It seemed like such a long time since Sara ad dan had booked me for their wedding. I had photographed Sara’s cousin Steph’s wedding to Robin last August and had had such a great day that I knew we were in for a good time (see more of their wedding here)! I joined Sara and her bridesmaids and family at The Crescent Inn in Ilkley where they were getting ready with the help of Lucy Jones on hair duties, and my favourite make up artist Lauren Rippin. We were also joined by Becky & James from 2 Little Ducks videography. Coincidentally I had photographed their baby boy a few years ago so it was lovely to catch up with them!

I started with some details shots of Sara’s beautiful Suzanne Neville gown from The Bridal Boutique in Baildon, her shoes (Choos!) and gorgeous bouquets by The Yorkshire Dales Flower Company. Once Sara’s make up was underway I nipped over to All Saints Church to get some photos of the flowers and the building before the ceremony. I also popped in to The Black Hat where guests were starting to arrive for a pre-ceremony drinks. I made my way back to the Crescent to see Lauren applying the finishing touches to Sara’s make up, and then she opened her lovely gifts from Dan. Soon it was time for Sara to get dressed and for her dad to get his first glimpse of her all ready to go!

I headed back to the church and waited for Sara and her dad to arrive for the ceremony. I was able to photograph the service from the front of the church (yay!), and it was a lovely service. Afterwards Sara and Dan waited outside to greet everyone and best man Luke handed out mountains of confetti. Sara and Dan were absolutely bombed as they walked up the path to the waiting car!

We stopped in Langbar on the way to the reception at Home farm in Beamsley. The views were stunning and we got lots of lovely shots of Sara and Dan before heading down to the farm.

The marquee by Boutipi looked incredible with beautiful floral displays by The Yorkshire Dales Flower Company at the entrance. They had also created hoops of flowers and foliage which were hanging from the ceiling, Typical Type had provided the Edison bulbs which were suspended above the top table, and everything was coordinated by Sian from Chaplin Events.

Once Sara and Dan arrived we whipped through some family photos by the river and finished with a big shot of everyone. I dashed inside to capture the marquee with nobody in it (always tricky when it’s a wet day and people want to hide inside) and then it was time for people to take their seats for the wedding breakfast. Sarah said a few words before the food was served (love when a bride does a speech!) and I think we were all on the verge of tears by the time she finished. The rest of the speeches followed the food and were equally touching (and also hilarious!).

There was a bit of time before the evening reception, so I took Sara and Dan for a quick stroll in the surrounding fields to get some last shots of them before the sun hid behind the trees (and clouds!). Then it was back in for the cake cutting and the party. The band The Cover Up were fab and the dance floor was packed after the first dance, so I got a good amount of embarrassing photos of everyone before I left!

Hugest of thank you Mr & Mrs W for asking me to capture your wedding, and to Steph & Robin for recommending me!

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
