Frances & Terry’s Beautiful Wedding at Thicket Priory
Thicket Priory Wedding Photographer. Frances and Terry’s wedding at Thicket Priory was a day filled with love, laughter, and some truly unforgettable moments. Thicket Priory is the most beautiful venue, with so many gorgeous rooms inside but also the lake and gardens are incredible! Frances & Terry’s celebration was a perfect reflection of their personalities—personal, fun, and heartfelt. From getting ready in the venue’s luxurious spaces to a lively dance floor later on, every detail was thoughtful and intimate. Here’s a peek into their magical day.
Getting Ready
Frances and Terry both got ready at Thicket Priory, which meant that I could capture both sides of the preparations. Frances and her bridesmaids spent the morning in the stunning bridal suite, where the calm and joyful atmosphere set the tone for the day. They sipped champagne, shared stories, and helped her into her dress, which fit her perfectly. The vibe was relaxed, with everything falling into place as planned.
Down the hall, Terry was getting ready with his groomsmen and his best woman—his sister, Danni. It was clear from the start that Terry was relaxed, joking around with his friends, and taking it all in stride. It was lovely to see the connection between Terry and Danni; best friends as well as siblings. Joining us was Barney from SP Wedding Films, whose easy-going nature and professionalism always make him a joy to work with. He captured all the intimate details with a laid-back approach, helping to keep everyone comfortable in front of the camera.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the beautiful chapel at Thicket Priory, a peaceful and intimate setting. Frances and Terry had a blessing led by a close friend, which made the ceremony even more personal and meaningful. There was a playful moment when the couple decided to play rock-paper-scissors to determine who would say their vows first—an unexpected but delightful touch that perfectly captured their fun-loving dynamic.
The chapel was elegantly adorned with flowers from The Topiary Tree Florist, adding to the romantic atmosphere. As they exchanged vows, rain began to fall, but it didn’t dampen the spirits. The drizzle didn’t last long, and by the time the ceremony concluded, the weather had cleared, giving way to a beautiful confetti moment outside.
As Terry is an avid cricket fan, his cricket teammates held up their cricket bats to create an arch for Frances and Terry to walk through as confetti rained down on them—a fun and personal tribute to Terry’s love of the sport.
Reception
After the ceremony, we quickly took Frances and Terry to the lake for photos, just in case the weather turned again. The couple were naturals in front of the camera, effortlessly striking poses and enjoying each other’s company in the serene surroundings. As the drizzle began again, we headed back inside for drinks with their guests, and the atmosphere remained warm and relaxed.
Eventually, we managed to capture the family photos outside when the weather cleared, followed by the arrival of the registrars for the legal ceremony.
The wedding breakfast room was breathtaking, decorated once again by The Topiary Tree Florist. The tables were beautifully styled with more flowers, and a subtle nod to Terry’s love for cricket—table names inspired by his favourite cricket grounds —brought a personal touch to the elegant setting.
Speeches
The speeches were a truly emotional part of the day. Frances’ parents spoke first, sharing heartfelt memories and love for their daughter. Then Frances herself took the mic, her speech filled with humour, love, and gratitude. Terry’s speech was equally touching, with moments of both humour and deep emotion. Finally, Danni, as best woman, gave a speech that had everyone in the room laughing and wiping away tears.
Party Time
After the speeches and a delicious meal, we took Frances and Terry outside once more for a few more photos in front of Thicket Priory. The building is stunning, and the grounds offer the perfect backdrop for some intimate shots with the newlyweds.
The fun really kicked off after the cake-cutting at the bottom of the grand staircase. The couple were introduced to the cheers of their guests before the first dance, where confetti cannons went off, adding a burst of excitement to the moment.
The dance floor quickly filled with guests, and the party was in full swing. It was a perfect end to an unforgettable day—filled with laughter, dancing, and the kind of joy that only a celebration like this can bring.
Frances and Terry’s wedding at Thicket Priory was an unforgettable day, and it was a privilege to capture every beautiful moment of it. From their emotional ceremony to their lively party, their wedding was a perfect reflection of their love and the wonderful life they are starting together.
