Same Sex Wedding at The Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey | Kat & Naomi
Tithe Barn Wedding Bolton Abbey. Another gorgeous Tithe Barn wedding and amazing to see another happy couple married after postponing due to Covid. Kat & Naomi were originally due to be married in April 2021 so it was lovely to finally meet them properly outside Harrogate where they were getting ready at opposite ends of a gorgeous rental cottage. Two brides meant two dresses to capture, along with two lots of hair and make up so it was a busy morning which I loved! Kat & Naomi’s friends and family were so welcoming we had a great time and the time absolutely flew by. I captured Naomi getting dressed first and then nipped up 3 flights of stairs to see Kat have her turn, haha! Then it was off to the Tithe Barn for me to get some shots of everything set up for the ceremony and wait for Kat & Naomi to arrive.
They both walked down the aisle and were married in a civil ceremony under a chuppah as a nod to Naomi’s Jewish heritage. It was a beautiful service; Kat & Naomi wrote their own vows and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house! After the register was signed the registrars left and some of Kat & Naomi’s friends and family performed the Seven Blessings before they walked back up the aisle as Mrs & Mrs!
We kicked the reception off with some confetti and a big group shot of everyone before drinks and canapés were served and Kat & Naomi could say hi to their guests. Their gorgeous dog Essie also came for a few photos and then we whipped through some family pics. I let Kat & Naomi have a breather then and got some shots of the barn set up for dinner, and then whisked them around the grounds for some photos of the two of them together – absolute naturals! We got loads of great shots in record time and then it was back inside for some Israeli dancing which is always loads of fun.
Before long everyone was seated for the meal and Kat & Naomi were announced by “best gal” Emily. Speeches followed the meal and were hilarious – Kat & Naomi did a speech together as well which a loved. Things were rounded off with a Yam Seng from Kat’s family – a traditional Chinese toast, which I must say is much more interesting than “cheers”!.
I took Kat & Naomi around the barn again for a few more photos of the two of them before it was time for the cake to be cut. Which had rainbow sponge inside; my daughter’s favourite! Kat & Naomi got the party started with their first dance and the dance floor soon filled with mad revellers! We had time for a quick sparkler session and then it was time for me to head home.
Thank you thank you Kat & Naomi fr trusting me to capture your gorgeous wedding day! If you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding at this beautiful venue then please do browse some of my other Tithe Barn weddings and then get in touch!
