Woolas Barn Wedding Photography | Jen & Edden’s gorgeous Spring wedding at Woolas Barn near York

Woolas Barn Wedding Photography. Back at the gorgeous Woolas Barn outside York for Jen & Edden’s big day at the start of May! Jen & the girls were getting ready at Jen & Edden’s home in York with Make Up & Beauty by Steph in charge of make up and Lisa Holmes on hair for everyone. The house was nice and busy when I arrived with everyone together in the kitchen which rang with laughter. I grabbed a few shots of Jen’s beautiful gown and fab flowers by Kerri Bailey before joining everyone in the kitchen. I spent a lovely, relaxed hour or so capturing Jen and co having hair and make up finished off and enjoying prosecco and ham sandwiches – a winning combination!

Before we knew it it was time for Jen to get dressed, and she looked amazing in her French by Wendy Makin gown. We brought her dad in to see her all ready to go before showing the bridesmaids, and then it was time for me to head over to Woolas Barn.

I got some shots of everything set up for the ceremony and some candid photos of Jen & Edden’s guests enjoying a pre-ceremony drink, and then waited for Jen to arrive. Which she did in style in a VW Camper – my favourite! The ceremony was lovely, and I was impressed with the length of J&E’s first kiss and husband and wife as I’d been warned that they weren’t fans of PDA! 😀

Jen & Edden walked back up the aisle and out into the bar area to greet their guests. Confetti was handed out and we set up a confetti tunnel outside the main barn doors and out on the terrace. I let Jen and Edden say hi to some of their friends and family before whipping through their group photo list. And then their gorgeous dog Ernie arrived and stole the show in his little waistcoat and bow tie! We got loads of great photos with him in, he was so well behaved! And I loved how excited everyone was to see him!

Then it was time for me to take Jen & Edden around the gardens for a few photos of the two of them away from their audience! They were absolute naturals and it wasn’t long before I was leaving them for a few moments alone together whilst I headed inside to get some detail shots of everything set up for the wedding breakfast. The barn looked beautiful styled by Emily K Weddings and with more beautiful flowers by Kerri Bailey.

Everyone took their seats and then the speeches started. They were all excellent and had the crowd roaring! Food was served and I headed upstairs to back up my photos and to wait for the singing waiters which I knew were coming between mains and dessert! They were a surprise booked by Jen and her mum so it was great to see Edden’s reaction when they got started. I love singing waiters, they always get the crowd going and it makes for great photos!

After dessert it was time for the cake cutting and Jen & Edden’s first dance. They were soon joined on the dance floor by all of their guests and I got some great party shots before we rounded some people up for sparklers to finish the photos off!

Thank you Jen & Edden for booking me to photograph your wedding, it was such a treat! I love Woolas Barn so if you’re looking for someone to photograph your wedding there then please do get in touch! x

    Oh, hey!I'm Laura.

    PEOPLE WATCHER.

    STORYTELLER.

    MOTHER.

    CAKE PLEASE.

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
