Holmfirth Vineyard Wedding Photographer | Charlotte & Jonny

Holmfirth Vineyard Wedding Photographer. Charlotte & Jonny were married at Holmfirth Vineyard on a classic English spring day – sunny/windy/cloudy/rainy, repeat. Thankfully we lucked out and scored mostly sunny, though the wind chill factor was something special! I joined Charlotte & her bridesmaids and family at her parents’ home not far from the venue where hair and make up were in full swing. As usual I started with some detail shots of charlotte’s dress, shoes and so on before joining everyone downstairs to capture them all finishing getting ready. I absolutely loved Charlotte’s Madison James gown – I’m a sucker for floral details!

The two gorgeous little flower girls were there too and seemed determined to steal the show; camera shyness was not an issue! I captured Charlotte being buttoned into her gown expertly by bridesmaids Kaz & Helen and then we brought her dad in to see her all ready to go. With just a little confusion as to why he was being summoned 😀

I grabbed a few shots of Charlotte all ready to go and then headed over to the vineyard to say hi to Jonny and wait for the bridal party to arrive. They went against tradition and arrived early so the ceremony kicked off a little ahead of schedule which I think is a first for me! I’m sure he wouldn’t agree but it was so lovely to see Jonny well up as he saw Charlotte make her way down the aisle towards him. I say it a lot but it’s such a privilege to be able to witness these events. I should also mention the expert petal scattering by flower girl Willow.

Rings were exchanged and vows were made and then it was out into the bar for drinks, canapés and congratulations! The weather was pretty changeable at this point but we lucked out after a little wait and soon cracked on with the group photos. Thank you to all of Charlotte & Jonny’s family/bridesmaids/groomsmen for braving the winds with a sense of humour!

Since the skies were clear I took Charlotte & Jonny around the vineyard for some shots of just the two of them and then we headed back into the warmth. Since the ceremony had started a little early we had loads of time which was great as we didn’t feel like we needed to rush back as I knew there was still loads of time for me to capture some candid shots of everyone enjoy the last of the drinks reception.

Soon guests were seated and Charlotte & Jonny were announced as the newest Mr & Mrs. Speeches were before the meal and had everyone laughing and crying in equal measure (with perhaps a few more tears from Jonny than anyone else!).

After dinner the sun started to set over the hills so I quickly took Charlotte & Jonny back outside for some shots in my favourite light. The room was changed around for the evening and before long the cake was cut, the first dance was danced, confetti canons went off and of course I got loads of great party shots.

Thank you so much to Charlotte & Jonny for asking me to capture your wedding, and to Alice & Jonny for recommending me! Please do get in touch if you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding at Holmfirth Vineyard – I can’t wait to go back!

    Oh, hey!I'm Laura.

    PEOPLE WATCHER.

    STORYTELLER.

    MOTHER.

    CAKE PLEASE.

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
