Wedding Photographer in Yorkshire | Best of 2020.

Wedding Photographer in Yorkshire. Well, what to say about 2020? Not exactly the year I had planned. I had 35 weddings booked in over the year, I managed to shoot just 3 before Lockdown #1 and then 4 micro weddings in the autumn and winter.

Not gonna lie, it’s been tough. So many calls and emails with heartbroken brides and grooms, sometimes postponing for the third or even fourth time. I’ve lost a fair few where we just couldn’t find a matching date in the diary and I’m so sad to not be seeing those couples finally tie the knot when their big day comes. And don’t even get me started on home schooling!

But the weddings I have been lucky enough to capture this year have been magic. My first one back after lockdown was Elle & Marlon’s intimate wedding ceremony at Harrogate Registry Office which they managed to book on their original wedding date, and I was overjoyed to see them get legally wed! This was followed by three new small wedding bookings in October and December, for couples that I probably wouldn’t have met if it weren’t for Covid – silver lining right there! Each one brought me such joy, they actually completely altered my mood for days afterwards and reminded me why I love this job so!

One thing 2020 has highlighted is just how much my job means to me. I absolutely cannot wait to get back to weddings. To see all the joy, the tears, the hugs, the confetti faces, the nervous energy, the speeches, and most of all to see families and friends come together with no limits – the hugs will be tighter, the smiles will be bigger, and the parties will be INSANE!

In the meantime, here are some of my favourite wedding and engagement shoot images from 2020 – I’ll be sure to sit down and look through these with a cuppa every time I feel bleak during this (hopefully final!) lockdown! Huge thank you to everyone who was able to go ahead with their weddings this year, and to those who couldn’t but have worked with me to rebook a new date. It’s going to be amazing when it finally happens! And of course thanks to Lissa Alexandra for being her usual fantastic self second shooting with me before lockdown!

As always let’s start with a slideshow, set to a song I probably use too much but it just fits and lifts me up! And then keep scrolling for a better look. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer in Yorkshire then please do get in touch!

    CAKE PLEASE.

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
