Yorkshire Wedding Barn Photos | Faye + Sam.

Yorkshire Wedding Barn Photos. I do love a midweek wedding! Faye and Sam were married on a Wednesday in late August at one of my favourite venues – the Yorkshire Wedding Barn near Richmond. Set in acres of North Yorkshire countryside with two beautiful barns, one with a room for the bridal party to get ready, loads of accommodation for guests in the cottages and B&B, undercover terraces for dodgy weather, outdoor ceremony potential, and stunning views – it has everything! Plus a cornfield! I joined Faye and the girls in the bridal room above the Lake Barn where they were getting ready with the expert help of Kate from KH Makeup Artistry and Caroline Louise Bridal Hair. I took Faye’s dress out into the bar to hang it on the balcony before any of the guests arrived, and then spent a lovely couple of hours back in the bridal suite with Faye and her bridesmaids. They were all super relaxed (or at least made it seem that way!), and the room rang with laughter the whole time. We were also joined by videographer Neash Photo/Video who was lovely to work with.

Meanwhile Lissa, my fab second shooter, joined Sam and the guys at one of the cottages to capture the last stages of them getting ready before heading over to the barn. As guests were arriving downstairs it was time for Faye to get into her beautiful Enzoani gown from the Harrogate Wedding Lounge. We let her parents in to see her all ready to go and then I went down to see Sam and to take my place for the ceremony.

The bridesmaids made their way down the staircase from the bridal suite one-by-one, followed by Faye and her dad. Everyone managed to keep it together and I think they were all pretty impressed with themselves! After the ceremony Faye and Sam walked back up the aisle, grabbed a drink, and waited to greet everyone in the bar. It was windy but dry so we organised a confetti line up on the path outside the barn. Faye & Sam had gone for a mix of regular confetti and confetti cannons and as a result they were absolutely pelted. I could barely see them at one point – I love confetti cannons!

We whipped through the group photos on the lawn and then I let Faye and Sam have a bit of a photo break whilst I got some shots of the Lower Barn set up for the wedding breakfast. Sam’s mum had made the beautiful centrepieces and I loved their ice cream themed table plan and stationery by Sent by Rachel.

I then went off in search of the happy couple and we managed a few photos on the lawns before the heavens opened! Happily the Lake Barn has a beautiful glass doors with an undercover entrance so we got plenty more photos of the two of them before it was time for dinner and speeches. I was treated to a full three course meal by their amazing caterers Hog and Apple – if you need a caterer for your wedding then please book them immediately! When the vegan food is delicious than the rest has got to be incredible, and their vegan chocolate torte was heaven!

Speeches followed the meal and were hilarious and so touching. I also got a bit obsessed with two of their youngest guests -twin baby girls Rose and Poppy; so gorgeous but reluctant to crack a smile for me! We had a bit of a break before the evening do started so Neash and I took Faye and Sam back out for some more photos on the lawn now that the rain had stopped. We also took them out to the cornfield at the back of the venue (I’m a bit obsessed with a cornfield!).

Pizza was being prepared when we got back by the Artisan Pizza Company, who also made me a lactose-free cheese pizza which was so good! I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much at a wedding! Soon it was time to cut the amazing cake by Where The Ribbon Ends – Gayle’s cakes are always so beautiful, and the hand-painted flowers on Faye and Sam’s cake were exquisite. The South West Band started up then, playing Faye & Sam’s first dance, and then the dance floor filled so I could get plenty of great embarrassing pics of people throwing mad shapes.

Thank you Faye & Sam for having me at your wedding; I had him amazing time! If you’re planning a wedding at the Yorkshire Wedding Barn please do get in touch with me, I would love to hear more about your day!

    MOTHER.

    CAKE PLEASE.

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
