Yorkshire Family Photography | Best of 2020
Yorkshire Family Photography. Yeesh, what a year eh? My Springs and Summers are usually jam packed with weddings meaning that I can’t normally fit in as many family shoots as I’d like because my weekends are booked up early on! Which brings me to one of the only good things about 2020; with all of my weddings either postponed or cancelled I was able to photograph lots of lovely families! Some whom I’d met before and so enjoyed catching up with, and some new ones whom I hope to be able to catch up with in the future! It was amazing to be able to get back a bit of normality over the summer and autumn months and to remember why I love doing what I do so much.
We are so spoilt for choice here in Yorkshire when it comes to outdoor locations for photos – Ilkley Moor, The Hollies in Meanwood, Thorp Perrow (esp in the autumn), Rowntree Park in York, and Otley Chevin are just a few of my faves and I managed to visit them all for shoots this year. I also managed to squeeze in a handful of at home baby shoots between lockdowns which was such a joy – I bloomin’ love a squidgy baby to photograph! Although I did miss being able to engineer a sneaky cuddle, can’t wait to get back to that when this madness is over!
The most enormous thank you to everyone who booked in with me this year, it’s been a really tough one to navigate as a self employed photographer who relies on interactions with other households for their income! It’s been tough on the sanity too (though my friends and family may say that ship sailed long ago for me!), my work means so much to me it’s been so hard to know how or who to be without it. Every shoot has brought back a little bit of that part of me and I’m so grateful. Here’s to the end of what is hopefully our final lockdown, and to getting back to living our lives!
If you are interested in booking a family photo shoot with me then please do get in touch and make my day! Here are some family photos from this year that make me happy, enjoy x
