Tipi Wedding Photographer Leeds | Cordelia & Matt

Tipi Wedding Photographer Leeds. Another huge blog post looming, sorry! šŸ˜€ Except not really because this wedding was a beaut!

Cordelia was getting ready at Malmaison in Leeds so I joined her there whilst my lovely second shooter Lissa met up with the Matt & the guys. The girls were split across two rooms so I merrily made my way back and forth between the hair and make up stations trying to stalk them all until it was time for Cordelia to get dressed in her perfect Grace Loves Lace gown! Make sure you also check out her rainbow sequin D&G shoes, and the beautiful wrist corsages by Serendipity Floral Designs.

Once she was ready we all headed downstairs (with Sheba the unicorn balloon, obvs) and Cordelia and the girls climbed into their limo for a few drinks and slow drive to the tipi site outside Leeds. In contrast I jumped in my sweltering Beetle to drink just water and make sure I got there before them! Meanwhile Lissa was capturing al the lovely details in the Papakata tipis before the guests started to arrive. Sally from Serendipity had worked her floral magic again ā€“ I especially loved the flower garland at the entrance to the tipis.

Since Cordelia & Matt had done the legal bit already, this ceremony was a super relaxed and personal one led by a close friend. Which meant plenty of freedom for me and Lissa, and loads of great special touches which always make for good photos ā€“ the best bit of course being two tipis worth of people belting out Whitney Houstonā€™s ā€œI Have Nothingā€!

After the ceremony we organised a confetti tunnel outside the tipis and then it was time for drinks and snacks in the sun. I left Lissa to capture loads of great informal shots of the guests (thanks Lissa!) whilst I took Cordelia & Matt off to one side for some group photos, and then some of the two of them in the garden next door (the whole site was owned by a friend, I donā€™t just wander around peopleā€™s gardens looking for photo ops :-D). These guys are absolute naturals in front of the camera and needed very little encouragement!

The whole day was coordinated by Nat Holmes who had the tipiā€™s ready for the wedding breakfast in no time at all, so I headed in to grab a few detail shots (including the fab cake by Poppy Pickering ā€“ Dominiqueā€™s cakes are always perfection by the way, and delicious. I donā€™t get to work with her enough!).

As the meal was ending the sun turned that perfect golden shade we photographers are obsessed with, so I quickly snuck the happy couple out for a couple more photos in the evening sun. And then we dragged everyone out for a group shot before the speeches.Ā A few sparklers and a cake cutting later and the party really started. And this crowd knew how to party!

As always a huge thank you to Cordelia & Matt for trusting me to capture their wedding, and to my amazing second shooter Lissa! x

    Ā

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera ā€“ I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although Iā€™m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and Iā€™m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
