Eden Broughton Hall Wedding | Danielle + John.
Eden Broughton Hall Wedding. Danielle and John were married at Eden at Broughton Hall followed by a reception over at Utopia. Surrounded by friends, family and all the autumn colours!
I joined Danielle and the girls at Eden where they were all getting ready upstairs with the help of hair stylist Kymberley Holmes. We were also joined by videographer Simon Manning who is always a joy to work with and I highly recommend!
I started by capturing some detail shots of Danielle’s dress and so on, and a few of her having her hair done, and also nipped downstairs to see the ceremony set up. Let me tell you people, these guys take DIY wedding to the next level! Danielle had chosen and ordered all of the flowers which were used to fill jars and vases and to create the most amazing hoop at the top of the aisle; all made by the bridal party plus a few extras, and one bridesmaids mum who also put together the amazing bouquets!
Meanwhile my second shooter Lissa was up at one of the cottages on the estate with John and the guys and his family capturing the other side of the preparations (a huge bonus of having a second photographer!). She got loads of great shots of them all getting ready and then they all headed down to Utopia for some team shots and to wait for the guests to arrive.
Back upstairs Dani was having her makeup done by bridesmaid Hannah, and then was clearly dying to get into her dress! When she was in and her veil was on we brought her dad up to see her and then I left the girls enjoying a drink of bubbly and went downstairs to see John and take my place for the ceremony.
Danielle walked down the aisle with the biggest smile on her face! It was a lovely ceremony full of laughter. Afterwards Dani and John walked back up the aisle and out of the front of the building to wait for their friends and family to pile out and assemble for confetti. We worked through some group photos and even managed to get a shot of everyone from an upstairs window. With time to spare meaning that Dani and John actually managed to speak to people and eat a canapé!
We then left everyone enjoying drinks at Eden whilst we got some shots of Dani and John around the grounds near Eden and over at Utopia, with a pitstop midway for some amazing Boston Ivy on a wall of one of the offices – couldn’t pass that colour! I had met up with Dani and John a few weeks before for their engagement shoot on Ilkley Moor, so they were old pros at being photographed together and it showed!
We spent some time in the gardens at Utopia with the two of them, and then Lisaa and I headed up to get some detail shots of everything set up for the wedding breakfast. Again so many things were handmade by Dani and John – the table plan, centrepieces, floral hoops. And it all looked incredible!
The guests soon arrived and were seated for dinner. Dani and John were announced in to great whoops and applause, and dinner was served. Speeches were between mains and dessert and were hilarious! I especially enjoyed the poem by John’s sister’s, and it was lovely to hear the bridesmaids talk about their friendships with Dani – more bridesmaid speeches please!
After dinner Dani and John had arranged amazing fire dancer Jes Fox to perform on the terrace whilst Utopia was made ready for the evening reception. And sparklers, obviously! Can’t have an autumn wedding without sparklers!
Soon it was time to head in for the cake cutting and first dance. The dance floor was full after that so I got loads of great shots of people dancing before leaving them all alone for the rest of the night!
Huge thank you as always to Danielle and John for asking me to capture their wedding! If you’re planning a wedding at Utopia or Eden and are looking for a photographer then please do get in touch, I’d love to hear more! x
