Hotel Du Vin York Wedding Photographer | Rebecca & Tom

Hotel Du Vin York Wedding Photographer. What to say about this pair?! Such a lovely couple, their wedding was an absolute joy to capture!

I went to university in York so I always love going back there! I joined Rebecca and her bridesmaids at her and Tom’s home outside the city where hair and make up activities were well under way. Rebecca was ready with loads of time to spare (a novelty on a wedding day!) so once she was dressed I headed to The Hotel Du Vin to capture the ceremony set up and to see Tom and the guys before the service.

Before long the guests started to arrive and I waited outside to see Rebecca arriving with her bridesmaids. The ceremony was so lovely, really emotional (Tom, ahem!), plus the light in the courtyard room is perfect!

Rebecca and Tom walked back up the aisle in a mini confetti flurry, and the guests piled out to get in place for the real thing!

We cracked on with the group photos (people always seem keen to get them out of the way!) and then Rebecca, Tom and I wandered down to the orchard at the bottom of the hotel grounds for lots of lovely photos of just the two of them.

Whilst Rebecca and Tom rejoined their guests I made my way back inside to the Courtyard which was ready for the wedding breakfast. The tables looked fab covered in lots of rustic jars filled with seasonal garden flowers by Ducks and Daffodils.

I returned to the drinks reception to perform my standard ninja act, capturing people unawares (mostly!), and then it was speech o’clock!

After dinner we had quite a bit of time before the first dance, so I booked an Uber(!) and Rebecca, Tom and I climbed in and headed to the Museum Gardens for more photos in the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey. I love the Museum Gardens later in the day, it’s normally almost empty and is full of amazing backdrops for photographs.

We grabbed another Uber back again in time for the cake cutting and first dance, and I managed to grab the happy couple for one or two shots on the fab staircase at the hotel before leaving them alone at last!

Huge thank you to Rebecca and Tom for booking me to photograph their wedding, I loved it all!

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
