Marquee Wedding Ilkley | Becky & Chris

A Marquee Wedding at Ilkley Golf Club: A Relaxed and Beautiful Celebration.

Marquee Wedding Ilkley. I always love it when I get to photograph couples I’ve already worked with before, and this wedding was no exception. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to photograph Becky as a bridesmaid at Ellie & Brad’s wedding at Hornington Manor, and fast forward to this day—here I was, capturing her own special moments. It’s always so lovely to see couples evolve and celebrate such a special milestone together.

Getting Ready.

The day started with Becky getting ready in a log cabin at Olicana Park in Addingham. Honestly, it couldn’t have been a more perfect spot. It was all cozy vibes, with plenty of natural light and lots of laughter. Becky was joined by her bridesmaids and her sweet little girl, Maisie (who was too cute for words, but a bit camera shy, bless her!). Faces Makeup worked their magic, making sure the girls looked flawless, and Rachel Allman styled their hair to perfection. There was a sense of calm excitement in the air as Becky slipped into her gown, ready for the day ahead. It was windy for June —definitely a day that reminded us that British weather keeps us on our toes—but luckily, the rain stayed away, so we were all good!

The Ceremony.

Next, we headed over to St. Peter’s Church in Addingham for the ceremony. It’s one of those churches that really gives you that warm, community feel, with its beautiful stone walls and simple charm. Becky walked down the aisle, looking absolutely stunning, and there were so many moments when you could feel just how much this day meant to her and Chris. After the ceremony, we made our way outside, where the Becky & Chris’s two French Bulldogs, Clover and Ivy, were waiting to greet them. It was such a lovely, light-hearted moment after all the emotion of the ceremony—those dogs definitely added some extra love and energy to the day!

Marquee Wedding Reception.

After the ceremony and some confetti, we made our way to Ilkley Golf Club, where the marquee reception was waiting. Wills Marquees had set up the perfect space and the florals, provided by Plantation Addingham, were just dreamy—soft blooms in pastel shades that matched the vibe of the day perfectly. The couple and their guests were treated to a delicious meal courtesy of Good Food Story, and everything was so beautifully presented. It was one of those weddings where you could feel the warmth and love in the air—the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night!

Speeches.

Now, let me tell you about the speeches—hilarious and emotional in equal measure! There were a lot of laughs, a few happy tears, and lots of love. You could see how much these two mean to their family and friends, and hearing all the funny stories about their journey together really brought everyone together. It was one of those moments that made you realise just how lucky you are to witness such genuine love and connection.

Party Time.

The evening started off with the cake cutting and first dance. The bridesmaids let off gold confetti cannons, which made for a seriously magical moment (I won’t lie, I was a fan of that dramatic effect!). Becky & Chris looked incredible dancing together, and the confetti added the perfect touch. Afterward, we were lucky enough to catch the most amazing golden hour light. The sun was just dipping behind the trees, and the light was pure magic as it filtered through the branches behind the marquee. We grabbed a few portraits of Becky & Chris, and I can honestly say the photos are some of my favourites of the year.

As the night went on, everyone danced, laughed, and celebrated. The wind might have tried to make things interesting, but it didn’t dampen the mood one bit. It was a day full of love, joy, and plenty of unforgettable moments.
