Oulton Hall Wedding Photographer. Another beautiful spring day for Melissa & Alex! I was extra happy about this because these guys had postponed their wedding by nearly a year thanks to covid so it was incredible to see them say I do on such a beautiful day.

I joined Melissa and her mum and bridesmaids in one of the gorgeous suites at Oulton Hall where they were getting ready with the expert help of Natalie Willingham. Once Melissa’s make up was finished I nipped down to catch Alex and the guys sorting pocket squares and buttonholes, and looking pretty confused about both! I also managed to grab some shots of the Oulton Suite set up for the ceremony and it looked amazing thanks to Emma from The Petal Studio.

Then it was back up to see Melissa’s hair being finished off, and then to see her get into her gorgeous Allison Webb gown. The girls were all ready nice and early so we had time for some photos everyone before I made my way down to the ceremony.

It was such a sweet ceremony with some lovely readings, and soon it was time for Melissa & Alex to head back up the aisle and outside. We herded everyone to the front of the building for confetti and the family photos, and then let people head back in for canapés and drinks. I let Melissa & Alex have a bit of a breather and chat to some of their friends and family before we made our way outside to the gardens to finish off the group photos.

We had time then for some relaxed portraits of Melissa & Alex together before it was time for the wedding breakfast. I managed to sneak in and get some shots of the Oulton Suite now that it was all changed and ready for the meal before people took their seats. Melissa & Alex were announced to great applause and the food was served.

After the main course it was speech time, which I love – I always enjoy watching people’s reactions plus I get let in on family secrets 😀

Dessert was served but we were losing the light so I grabbed Melissa & Alex for a few more photos in the grounds and the hotel, and then let them return to their crème brûlée whilst I waited for the party to start. Melissa & Alex had booked Chris Hilton’s Little Big Band as the evening entertainment which is ALWAYS a good idea! They’re fantastic performers and also really get the party going. After the cake was cut and the first dance was over the dance floor was flooded with people and I got loads of great partying shots before leaving everyone to dance the rest of the night away.
