Tower Hills Barns Wedding Photographer | Dani & Stephen

Tower Hills Barns Wedding Photographer | Dani & Stephen. OK, I’m going to have to apologise for the length of this post – there was so much going on and so much to photograph at this wedding! I mean, you’re probably going to damage your scrolling finger if you make it to the end.

But it’s worth it! This beautiful pair tied the knot at Tower Hill Barns in North Wales (sometimes I’m let out of the county!) on an absolutely scorching Saturday in June. I started the day with Dani and her bridesmaids at Jade’s Hair & Beauty in Llangollen where everyone was having their hair styled. It was an absolute mad house (in the BEST way!), and the madness continued when we then headed back to the Lion Quays Hotel for them all to start on their make up.

We then made our way to Tower Hill Barns where the flowers were waiting (oh the flowers! I think these are my favourite ever! By the incredible Wild Floral Design in Chester). Plus I could finally get a glimpse of Dani’s stunning Caroline Castigliano gown and the incredible veil that she and her mum made (super talented family!).

Whilst the girls were getting unpacked and organised I nipped down to see Stephen & the guys donning buttonholes (with difficulty!) and to get a few shots of all the little ceremony details before the guests arrived. All of the stationery including banners/signs/labels/table plan/fabric (including the boys’ ties and pocket squares) were designed and made by Dani. And I mean EVERYTHING! And it was all perfect; make sure to check out her company Meribelle Stationery & Lifestyle if you’re looking for bespoke wedding stationery; this girl is so good!

Then it was dress-time! I always love this bit; the mixture of nerves about what’s ahead and excitement at seeing everything come together for the first time. And this time I particularly loved seeing watching Dani’s gorgeous flower girl; she was in awe!

We finally allowed Dani’s dad in to see her so I could capture his reaction (and it was a good’un!) and then I went to get in place for the ceremony. It was an outdoor ceremony which took place under a disused railway bridge which was beautiful (if a littel hot!). Actually, technically it was two ceremonies – the first half was a quick civil ceremony; the legal part. Followed by a more personal service which was so special to Dani & Stephen and lovely to photograph.

Dani & Stephen then walked back up the aisle and led everyone over to the barn for drinks (yes personalised wedding day beer – labels by Dani!) and ice cream from the cutest ice cream van I’ve ever seen! I mean, her name was Hyacinth for goodness sakes’!

A bit later we headed to a shady spot for the group photos, and then it was back to the barn for me to photograph all the lovely details that Dani & Stephen had clearly but months of thought and effort into! Again everything was perfectly set up, from the flowers to the cake and all of Dani’s beautifully designed stationary.

It was ridiculously hot by this point so I led Dani & Stephen back to the shade for some photos, but we decided to leave most of the shots of the two of them until after dinner. Really glad we did because the sun was AMAZING that evening!

Once everyone was seated Dani & Stephen made their entrance and the speeches started. And they were brilliant! So so funny and really touching – perfect combination!

Later in the evening when it finally cooled down I took my chance to take Dani & Stephen back out for more photos. We wandered around to the railway bridge and spotted a huge cornfield with the sun setting in the distance – a wedding photographers dream!

And then, party time! And this crowd knew how to party – love it when I can get loads of embarrassing shots of everyone throwing shapes 😀 A couple more shots of the happy couple under the festoon lighting and it was time for me to go!

Right, I am done waffling! As always a massive thank you to Dani & Stephen for trusting me to capture their wedding. And for giving me so much to capture! x

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots.
