Wedding Photographer Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey | Rachel & Fraser.

Wedding Photographer Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey. I can’t believe how glorious the weather was for Rachel& Fraser’s wedding at The Tithe Barn! We were blessed with incredible sunshine all day long.

I joined Rachel and her mum and bridesmaids at the Tempest Arms near Skipton a couple of hours before the ceremony. It was lovely to see Emily Hawkes again who was already busy styling the girls’ hair when I arrived. Cat Johnson was in charge of everyone’s make up and I think she was already on number 3 of 4 when I got there! I always like to ease people into my presence by first capturing all the lovely details of dress/shoes and so on before switching to “stealth” mode and focusing more on the people! Easier said than done in a hotel room! Once hair and make up were finished it was time for Rachel to get into her amazing Sottero and Midgley gown. I love this dress, the beading is amazing. Approximately 350,000 buttons later Rachel was ready and it was time to let her dad in to see the finished product! Safe to day he was pretty blown away!

I jumped in my car and headed over to the Tithe Barn to join my wonderful second shooter Lissa who had met Fraser and the guys there earlier. Most of the guests arrived in a vintage bus which was a touch delayed. But then so was Rachel, haha! 😀

Once the bridal party had arrived I took my place at the front and waited for Rachel to make her entrance. The barn looked incredible (as always!) and I loved the hanging ball of greenery by Beamsley Blooms. The ceremony was both emotional and hilarious, with my favourite bit being the reading by Rachel’s sister and bridesmaid Sarah. Seems like serious is not her thing so she cracked up before she’d even started, and then I think everyone started blubbing when she welled up half way through! I also managed to crack my head on the candelabra at this point – I’m nothing if not graceful!

After the ceremony everyone crowded around the newlyweds for a squeeze and congratulations, and then we headed outside for a confetti bombing. We whipped through a few group photos I left Lissa grabbing some candid shots of the guests whilst I took Rachel & Fraser to the front of the barn for a few shots of just the two of them.

Once we’d finished (or should I say “stopped”; I’m never truly finished!) the barn had been turned around for the wedding breakfast so I got a few shots of all of the lovely details and then it was time for everyone to head inside for the speeches. Which were hilarious! So much laughter filled the barn – I think the life-size cardboard cut out of Fraser from his best man (and brother) Steve was my favourite moment. That or the faces on the crowd when they realised Fraser’s opening joke was in fact as dirty as it first seemed! 😀

The wedding breakfast started with a roast chicken dinner (which smelled incredible to my lactose-intolerant nostrils!) and Rachel and Fraser had provided personalised aprons for their designated “carver” at each table. The time flew by as it always does and before we knew it the cake was cut, the first dance danced, and I left them to party the night away to the music of The Wilde Ones

Enormous thank you to Rachel & Fraser for asking me to capture your wedding day – I loved every minute!

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots. So if you have any questions then please get in touch using one of my contact forms. In the meantime, grab a cuppa and browse through my wedding or portrait galleries, or take a look at my most recent work on the blog.

I can't wait to hear from you x
