Wharfedale Grange Wedding Photography | Amy + Kris.

Wharfedale Grange Wedding Photography. My first wedding at the incredible Wharfedale Grange! I’d been dying to get my hands on this beauty for a while (insert evil laugh here)…

I joined Amy and the girls in a secret dressing room at Wharfedale Grange which is hidden behind a huge sliding mirror (there is nothing that Claire has not thought of here!). I arrived in time to get a few shots of Amy’s dress on said mirror before nipping in to see her having her hair done. I then popped back and forth capturing all of Amy’s other details (including the amazing bouquets by Leafy Couture) and lots of candids of the girls getting ready. We were also joined by Lauren from Unveil Films who was a fab videographer and lovely to work with. Since everything was in one place I could also nip down to the ceremony room to get some shots in there before everyone arrived.

My lovely second shooter Lissa spent the morning with Kris and the guys at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate where they were all getting ready (and speech writing!). She then followed them over to Wharfedale Grange to capture the guests arriving and everyone enjoying a drink before the ceremony. Soon it was time for Amy to get dressed and for her dad to come up and see her all ready to go. To say he was impressed is probably an understatement! I made my way down to the entrance to grab a few shots of Amy descending the stairs and then headed into the ceremony room to take my place at the front.

Kris was looking suitably anxious but he soon lost all signs of nerves when he caught his first glimpse of Amy walking down the aisle towards him. After the ceremony Amy and Kris walked back up the aisle as husband and wife and waited whilst all of the guests filed out and lined up for confetti. Claire at Wharfedale Grange is an absolute legend when it comes to confetti coordination! The confetti was fab – some quality faces from Amy and Kris, and their white and gold confetti looked brilliant as it was being rammed in their faces haha!

We let Amy and Kris have a bit of a break to say hi to their friends and family and then I worked through their group photo list with them. Meanwhile Lissa captured the drinks reception and ace magician Andy Larmouth who was incredible, so I’m told! We broke off halfway through our list since one of the flower girls was needed for the rest but was currently snoozing in the car somewhere on the A61! So we took Amy and Kris around the gardens at Wharfedale Grange for some shots of just the two of them. Absolute. Naturals. We got loads of lovely shots of them near the farmhouse (which looks even more amazing now that it’s finished being converted into accommodation!). We wandered back towards the barn in time to see their flower girl return and finished our photo list.

There was just time for some detail shots of the main barn set up for the wedding breakfast before guests were seated for speeches. It looked amazing with incredible centrepieces by Leafy Couture. I loved the Gin miniature favours (obviously!). And the cake by Gayle from Where The Ribbon Ends was so beautiful. She had also done a doughnut wall with cupcakes and macarons for the evening; drool! OMG and the chocolate covered popcorn! Also make sure to checkout the incredible hoop made by Kris and Amy to display the cake!

Soon everyone was seated and Amy & Kris were called into huge applause. The speeches were before the meal and I think all of the speakers breathed a huge sigh of relief when they were done! After dinner there was a nice break until the evening reception started so Lauren and I took our chance to get some shots of Amy and Kris at a few spots around the barn before the first dance.

First dances at Wharfedale Grange are something else! Huge confetti cannons were let off part way through and it looked so good in the photos! The dance floor was crowded for a good while afterwards so I got some great shots of everyone throwing shapes. We finished things off with a sparkler shot outside on the patio and then I left Amy and Kris to party!

Enormous thank you Amy & Kris for asking me to capture your wedding! And if you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding at Wharfedale Grange then please do get in touch! x

I live near Ilkley with my slightly* nutty 9 year old Rose, and I have had the honour of photographing weddings and families for 11 years now. I genuinely cannot believe how lucky I am that I get to call this my job.

*she once told me that traffic lights are the bane of her life, and she went through a phase of naming everything "Cantameen". Send help!

I love photographing people. Whether it's your wedding day, you're expecting or have just had a baby, or you simply want to capture your loved ones the way they are right now, my aim is to document unique moments in time to create a beautiful set of images that you will treasure for many years to come. My style combines photojournalism with beautiful portraits, and my fun and relaxed approach makes you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera – I want you to actually enjoy having your photograph taken!

Although I’m based near Ilkley I cover all of Yorkshire and I’m actually happy to travel anywhere for weddings and portrait shoots.
