Carlton Towers Wedding Photographer | Georgia & Ryan
Carlton Towers Wedding Photographer. What can I say about this day?!
I started off at Georgia’s parents house on a grey and drizzly September morning. Essentially a typical September in England. I love a busy house on the morning of a wedding and this one did not disappoint! The place was full of laughter and chatter. Whilst the girl were getting hair and make up done downstairs I headed up to get some detail shots (check out Georgia’s amazing dress by Nicole Spose!) and then went down to join the chaos. Meanwhile by second shooter Ian was over at Georgia & Ryan’s place capturing the boys getting ready before they all headed to the church.
Once Georgia was dressed and her lovely dad had come up to get his first glimpse of her in her wedding gown (one of the best parts of the day I think!), I headed off to join Ian at the church and get in place for Georgia’s arrival. The drizzle and wind were still going strong and the shot of Georgia’s face when her umbrella turned inside out is one of my favourite’s from the whole day! 😀
There ceremony itself was lovely and relaxed, and their wonderful vicar was super laid back. And hilarious! The rain finally gave up during the service, which meant that Georgia & Ryan could wait outside to greet everyone as they grabbed a handful of confetti. I love this time for candid shots of the wedding guests – there’s always loads of great reactions as people say their congratulations, and I’m usually ignored a lot more than later on in the day because everyone is so wrapped up in seeing the happy couple!
Once Georgia & Ryan had made their (very enthusiastic!) confetti exit I nipped off with them to Carlton Towers whilst Ian stayed with the guests who made their way to the pub over the road for bacon sandwiches. The ceremony was at 10am so people were full ready for brunch by this point! I made it to Carlton first which meant that I could get loads of detail shots of The Picture Gallery all decked out for the wedding breakfast.
Since the guests were still all making their way over from the pub we still had loads of time to get some gorgeous shots of Georgia & Ryan in the grounds at Carlton. The options at this place are endless! And of course that’s when the rain kicked in again so we made our way inside for a few last photos on the stairs before everyone else started arriving.
A few family photos laster and the sun was shining at last (that’s what I love about British weather – the predictability, ha!) which meant gardens games on the lawn and some great shots of the bridal party in front of the building – loved the way the bridesmaids dresses complimented the red of the Boston Ivy 😀 The rain forced us back in for the last few photos and then it was time for the wedding breakfast followed by some of my favourite ever speeches!
I managed to sneak a couple more photos of Georgia on the staircase (Ryan was done with photos by this point, haha!) before the evening reception started. These guys had booked Jordan O’Grady to keep people entertained until the dancing started – he’s an amazing magician, please book him immediately! As always it was over so quickly; the cake was cut, the first dance was danced, the crowd invaded the dance floor and then it was time for me to go!
Huge thank you to Georgia & Ryan for asking me to capture their wedding, and to my fab second shooter Ian!
