Wood Hall Wedding Photographer | Laura & Mike at Wood Hall Hotel & Spa
If you’re looking for a Wood Hall wedding photographer who has seen how magical this venue looks in autumn, Laura and Mike’s November wedding is for you! From the moment I drove up the long approach road, lined with towering beech trees glowing in rich copper and golden tones, it felt like the whole day had been dipped in warm seasonal colour. November weddings can be unpredictable, but we were lucky — chilly, yes, but beautifully dry, which meant we could fully enjoy the grounds.
Inside, the ceremony room looked incredible thanks to the talented team at Leafy Couture. There were flowers everywhere — an elegant, glamorous seasonal display in deep autumn tones that perfectly complemented the venue’s interiors. The colours were especially stunning against Laura’s hair, which seemed to glow even more surrounded by those warm hues.
Laura wore a gorgeous long-sleeved gown by Justin Alexander, which felt absolutely made for a late-autumn wedding: timeless, romantic, and effortlessly elegant. Her bridesmaids wore velvet gowns in a deep red that added even more richness to the overall look of the day (and probably helped keep everyone a bit warmer too!).
Because the weather held out, we headed straight outside after the ceremony for confetti — always one of my favourite moments to photograph. There’s something about that burst of movement and laughter that sets the tone for the whole celebration. We then moved into group photos and couple portraits around the grounds while my brilliant second shooter, Lissa, joined the drinks reception to capture all those natural candid moments of guests hugging, laughing, and generally having the best time.
One of the most unique touches I’ve ever seen at a wedding made an appearance during the reception: Laura and Mike had created individual LEGO figures for every single guest, matching their outfits, hairstyles, and even hobbies. I got one too, which honestly made my day.
As the light faded, we gathered outside again for sparklers after the speeches — always such a fun atmosphere — and just when everyone thought the surprises were over, Laura and Mike treated their guests to a full firework display. It was the perfect high-energy moment before heading back inside for cake cutting and a packed dance floor.
Wood Hall is such a fantastic venue year-round, but autumn weddings here have a particularly cosy, romantic feel. If you’re planning your own celebration and searching for a Wood Hall wedding photographer, this venue offers endless opportunities for beautiful, natural storytelling photographs — whatever the season.
